It's very annoying to see that happen all the time online.

How some anime fans praise Japan so much.

Hey it was (and is) pretty fresh stuff if all you know is hollywood and broadcast tv.
And when I got into anime the different tropes and literature/historical sources (or the completely off the wall takes on known sources) was pretty cool.

What it is NOT however is 'great art' that can only be diminished when it's sullied by western hands. Which I believe frankly is the mentality behind too many of the people who hate dubs or who champion the idea that 'anime is not cartoons'

If I find a point in a dubbed anime that I cannot understand then I switch to subs for that part. I guess its because of the different accents that I struggled to understand the chaos;head dub. Overall I have no problem switching on the spot if needed, but I guess a quick change wont work for some if needed

Whatever I start in. that get's cemented in my mind as the character. Even when a production company changes voice actors for a rerelease or a long running show. The platinum edition of ADV's version of original Evangelion has some strange guy stealing gendo ikari's lines and it spoils it for me a little bit.

I can honestly say I can switch between the Japanese dub and English dub of Naruto, One Piece (Funimation dub), Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Fairy Tail, and many more with out any problem.

Sometimes.

Some animes I started to watch it dub but it sounded so horrible that changing to subs was like magic to my ears. This happened with Gundam Seed...the english DUB sucks.

But some animes have great DUBs that I would never like to watch it subbed. Berserk and Cowboy bebop are some of them...I like Sakura Card Captors and Inuyasha in spanish DUB but the english DUB sucks.

Those were the only exceptions...for the rest of the animes, I prefer them subbed.

for the most part, yeah. Once I start watching something in either dub or sub, i tend to get stuck on whichever I see first. Like when I watched Steins;gate, i first watch dub and now whenever i tried to see subbed version, I kinda want to go back, although I love the subbed version as well. I just tried to find a balance between both version, like watching it once on dub or subbed and then watch it again sometime later in dubbed.

I started watching dubbed, with whatever was on TV, but after I started watching subbed I can't go back.

I watch both but there are some english voice actors I can't stand, others I like. I really like Monica Rial's voice acting

I just watched the Fairy Tail dub and my ears hurt. Why is everyone so high pitched?

You're not the only one. I watch both Sub and Dubbed but usually I stick with which ever one I start with. Although sometimes I watch both of the same series for fun like with Naruto I've watch the Subtitled version but when it comes on Toonami I re-watch it and still love it
Sailor Moon I've watched Dubbed originally and it is weird to watch it subbed but I still enjoy both.

Also I love listening to most of the english voice actors and it's really cool for me personally because I've meet most of them in real life and have got to hang out with some of them outside the convention floor

This happens to me as well, so you are not alone.

I started watching Haibane Renmei dubbed, and about half way through had to switch to subs temporarily and I just couldn't stand it. When I had access to the rest of the dub, I restarted the whole thing all over again even though I was almost done.

I'm also incapable of watching the Fruits Basket, Lucky Star, Haruhi, and Welcome to the NHK subbed because i'm just so used to the dubbed voices. Same things happens with subs, as well - for example, Squid Girl, TWGOK, and Madoka Magica

i did manage one switch in my lifetime, though. I watched the first season of Hell Girl dubbed, but at the time I think the second season wasn't dubbed yet, so I watched that and all the subsequent seasons subbed. It was jarring at first, but I got used to it over time.
