I remember when I used to be quite engaged in the anime I watch, though now, it feels like I'm just staring into the screen and shutting my mind off. Maybe it's time to take a break.

Ever got burned out or anything similar? How do y'all deal with this?

I play Diablo 2, LOD; Starcraft 2, Heart of the Swarm.

I know the feeling. You lose your spark with something you once had such passion for. This reminds me, I need to rekindle that ember.

The last few seasons of anime has not improved much, mostly watching it for the sake of watching it. There have not been an anime catered to my tastes, even the good ones. However, with the announcement of a new Macross series, that has whetted my appetite for anime, again.

Again, I know the feeling quite too well.

The fact that I have no job, car, somewhat of a life, and always inside my house, shows I do need a break from anime. I prefer to do more catching up with my shows rather than always being on time.

Sounds weird.

That reminds me, I stopped console gaming a while back. I should go clean up my backlog.

Variety is always a good idea. It keeps you from getting bored.

I understand what you mean, especially this past season.
About 3/4 in to this winter season and even now, i am seriously considering cutting down on the simulcasts i watch. I was seriously BORED watching a majority of this seasons anime, and i don't want to go through that again. So i am thinking of watching some older anime instead of a lot of simulcasts.

I wouldn't say im losing my love for anime in general, it's just i can't be bothered tolerating all these sub-par shows. There are a couple anime i will definitely watch next season, like Soul Eater Not since i need to be reminded of my favorite series.

I also just watch a lot of videos on Youtube for a break.

Very rarely and it's usually for a week maybe while I watch some American shows. Variety is the spice of life and ensures I am rarely am bored of anime. There's an anime for every mood I'm in. I watch all genres, lengths, types, etc. Play video games while watching, go on forums, etc.

Oh god I get what you mean. I watched 28, 28, simulcasts this season(ok 29, but I dropped one early on), and so many of them just ended up being disappointments. And even when I was enjoying what I was watching, it became a drag. Thursdays and Saturdays were just killer on me, cause I was watching literally hours of anime on these two days.

I am definitely not doing that again any time soon. It helps that the Spring season looks, at least to me, to be rather weak as well. So I can pick up the shows I know I want to watch, and then fill out the rest of my schedule from there. I still want to watch at least one show a day, though.

I'm gonna be aiming for somewhere in the 15 to 20 range, and 20 is the damn max. And I am for sure not watching more than 5 simulcasts on any given day. That was my curse on Thursdays(8 simulcasts) and Saturdays(6 simulcasts).

My current problem is I have seven animes I want to marathon and I can't decide which to marathon first.

So for like two days I haven't watched any of them.

Indecisive for fail!

Since as of late I feel like anime coming out isn't as good as its been in years Ive been slowly watching less and less simulcasts as of late. Im even considering canceling my Crunchyroll subscription for a while if nothing I want to watch comes out. That being said I did enjoy a couple of shows winter season, yet most of them were continuations of fall season shows from last year.

I picked up like 5 shows this season but by the end of everything I ended up only watching one the entire anime through. It was Noragami, and it was the only one that kept my attention to the very end. Sigh I think ima watch old anime that ive had on my wait list for years now, and or stop watching anime for a while then come back in the fall season for that Psyco-Pass season 2!

But yeah, I think a break ever now and then isnt a bad thing especially if your becoming like me. Taking a break might just help you come back to anime loving it even more. But those are just my two cents on the matter.

Yeah, i was in the 30's so im definitely cutting the amount i watch in half. I'd rather watch older series that have, in a sense, stood the test of time. There are so many famed anime that i have yet to see; this will be my anime training lol

I have over 40 damned series I've heard good things about in my CR queue right now....

And that's not even touching all the shows on Hulu that I've heard good things about as well. So I'll definitely have to catch up on these "classics".

I've collected too many good older anime titles. I'll never be able to finish my backlog at this pace!

I was thinking of finishing the simulcasts I got going this season but maybe not.
