Wow that was quick..

I just put the order for the Killerspin raquet last Saturday and now I just got it along with the 3 star Stiga ball orange and white.

Thank you Ping Pong anime ... for getting me back to this game

Episode 8

This show continues to prove itself to be one of the best of the season. Anyways, a great episode although it surprised me that China was eliminated. I guess Peco's growth was a bit too much for him to handle since their first match?

Smile on the other hand advanced smoothly. I wonder if he will face Smile though. I know he will most likely face Kazuma in the semi-finals. As usual, the OST was brilliant.

ahhhhh I havent seen the episode yet ...but here is some funny tennis match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS3O0OOn0a0

my favorite is at 4:55 to 5:27

UPDATE !!!!

I just saw it today 5/30 11:22 pm... awesome !!!

I really like the part where Obaba was going "o-ya" "a-ra ra" as Peco was doing new fancy cuts , really enjoying Peco's comeback ...okaeri hero !!even with the animation style, they were able to capture those techniques. I love rewatching that scene just to see the raquet movement

I feel like a little kid again... got to practice ball control all over again before taking classes.Anyway , while I was holding my raquet in penhold, it actually felt really comfortable. I believe I played both handholds when i was a kid

Anyway a Chiquita/Tikita is serve return , a backhand flick, a banana flip

Also I like Kong Wenge's character too. He has shown a lot of depth. His character is written well .

China is by far my favorite character. Long live King Kong.

Tsukimoto is probably my favorite character.

I'm eager to see how the matches between Peco, Tsukimoto, and Kazama play out. Regardless, it's going to be great.

I already got turned off from the anime when I looked at the videos Funimation uploaded about it. I don't really like the art style they chose to use for the anime so I honestly won't be watching it.

Sad the you won't give it a chance just because of the art style. But i guess to each his own.

Episode 9

Although China lost, I still hope for the guy has a good future.

The episode was pretty good. I noticed that Peco isn't @ 100% with a minor injury. Still, I think he will be able to do well in his upcoming match. I'm not sure about a win though as I would expect more of a Smile vs. Kazuma in the end. Speaking of which, Smile did pretty well in his match too. Nothing less expected from him.

I think the art style is pretty unique and the director fits in this art style very well

I agree about Wenge, inspite of his loss you still want something good will happen to him. He does care about his little birds too LOL.And Smile is indeed a monster , I probably get killed If I play him

I also just got my DHS penhold 5006 racket today !!! ... wohoo!! I m excited !! Its an awesome racket , so different from the recreational Killerspin handshake racket , and now to practise control

I just want to see Kazama vs Smile ... but Peco ... is

It's common for anime to maintain the look that appears in the manga, and that's how Matsumoto Taiyo's art looks (check Tekkonkinkreet). Artists are allowed more leeway in seinen manga titles as they don't need to be cute, since the target demographic is adult males. The animation takes Matsumoto's quirks and kicks it up a notch (it almost seems intentional so as to alienate younger audiences).

You are missing out on a great series, though.

Every episode is better than the last. I absolutely LOVE the symbolism on EVERYTHING!

"He's ping pong made flesh!" lulz

"All my cells are singing with joy" /cheer

When the hero's song bit got explained, yep. All the colors changed too. Perfect.

And I cannot wait for the finale when everything comes together. Everything has been explained in pieces so far. Now it all makes sense finally. The last piece was the song.

Episode 10

It's glorious

Two words that sums up the speech dialogues of Dragon this episode. Ah, the Ping Pong plays were good too with a strong basis on character focus involving Dragon. There's an incentive that he plays to meet expectations. But that's not all as he also plays to hold his world champion status. I really like how the episode emphasized that.

On another note, Peco is so OP now. Well, maybe that might be the wrong word to use but his talent exceeded my expectations by far now. The kid has come a long way as Hero.
