That was the most satisfying way to end this anime. The only thing I regret about this show is that it's CRIMINALLY underrated. So the aesthetics and animation aren't moe or a carbon copy of every other anime, that's part of the charm. For me, this did to the sports anime genre what Madoka Magica did to the Magical Girl genre, revolutionized while refining it down to it's core concepts. I loved it.

Okay, I'm ready to say a bit more on this magnificent show. Seriously, what an wonderful piece of art. If most anime are cheap beer, Ping Pong was a perfectly mixed highball—classy, articulate and masterful.

Easily AOTS for me (sorry One Week Friends, you just couldn't keep up) and it gets a 9/10 from me.

Thats nice too...I was so excited to get back into it but I develop a bursitis on my hip this week...and will have wait for this to heal and then take classes at a sports center nearby but for the meantime, I must develop control

I really like the DHS paddles man, the pads are really nice, I got them thru Amazon. It use to be Butterfly was a great brand but the reviews are pertty lame lately and a lot of counterfit too.

For those that have seen this would it be better to marathon this or just watch one episode a day to full enjoy it?

Couldn't tell you. I burned through five episodes today, at the recommendation of some users on CR. It's a very well-crafted, yet simple, story. Very realistic. The development of the characters is good. It makes me want to play ping-pong, again.

But I just am not getting that "zip" with it. It's probably more my personal tastes than the show, itself. We'll see what the last six episodes hold, but right now, it's a solid 8/10.

Which ever pace works for you honestly, some shows I prefer one at a time while others love to marathon it, so I couldn't say for Ping Pong, From how I watched the series weekly I felt satisfied. So try 3 and see if you rather contain it 1 by 1.

Try both ways. As in, try just one first and then if it's too much for you, do one per day. For me, I might have even liked it more if I marathoned through it.

Anime of the season.
Hunter x Hunter is number one with it but it has not ended yet and it is not only this season so it can't be anime of the season.

Finished it up today and I loved it. Most complete and well-crafted story of the season. It was real. It was simple. They got all the mileage they could out of it.

Only things that bothered me about it were the animation and memorability. Funny, because this show makes my complaints out more to be compliments.

The animation just hurts, sometimes, because I'm not used to it. But it was definitely the best animation for this show.

There's no one memorable "moment" for me, as it's all just a blur. I don't have a scene I can go back to and say "I loved that scene", because there wasn't one. But that's because the anime was one massive puzzle that lead from one piece to the next and needed to be completed to see the whole picture.

The animation and memorability make it hard to go back and re-watch it, because I wouldn't want to kill another 4-5 hours doing so. But that doesn't detract what this series did - hold my attention constantly through its consistency.

I'll rank No Game No Life above it slightly, but only because I will go back and re-watch it. This is a more well-oiled machine than NGNL ever was or will be, though.

9.25/10

Well, I just marathoned this myself, and I must say I'm disappointed...because now I can't cut down on any future overloaded watching schedules by eliminating sports anime as a genre, like I thought I was going to be able to. Thanks, Japan...
