My top boss (the store manager) has his ups and downs. On the negative side, he doesn't really seem to trust me with the tasks he's asked me to do. Even goes as far as walking all the way across the store to see if I "really did" stock the shelves assigned. However, on the plus side, he's given me plenty of wiggle room and freedom compared to my co-workers. He's allowed me to cut or add hours as long as I let him know (and if there are any available). He's also allowed me to have Sundays off (which, in the retail world, is almost unheard of, especially in grocery stores). Shoot, I can't even mention to my coworkers that I have Sundays off. Of course, I don't just take advantage of that for my own. I try to stay a bit longer than scheduled when requested.

The co-managers are ok. I've seen plenty of them come and go.

My head supervisor is awesome. He's laid back, but gets the job done. Also attends my college so at least we've got something to talk about during down times. Literally everyone on the front end likes him. Same goes for the assistant head.

I've had good bosses and bad bosses. Most are just meh. I got along with them because it makes things easier. You just learn to work with people with all kinds of personality types. I'm a boss myself so I try to be a good one, or at least a tolerable one. I know what I liked and didn't like about my bosses so I try to treat my people that way. As long as they are doing what they need to do I'm easy to put up with.

I can't stand mine, infact she has utterly no personality and is a procedure after procedure after procedure kind of person.

My past managers haven't been so great. My current manager, however, is so awesome! In fact, I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday but she remembered it from my resume and took our whole team out to lunch and paid for me at some fancy place where stuff like a plain salad is $30 alone. Couldn't imagine a better manager.

I recently got a new job like 2 months ago...it was like a dream come true because I'm paid well and the boss gave me a car....however, last week the boss started to act weird, he can't seem to keep his hands off of me (I'm his secretary....I'm always alone at the office except when he comes over).

I'm really sad and upset because he is almost sexually harassing me...hugging me almost every 5 seconds, kissing me on the cheek or on the head and telling me we have to get to know each other better I told him I didn't like him to keep touching me and that his attitude made me uncomfortable but he just laughed it off as me being shy and said that I have to change...WTF?

I don't like it!!! damn it!! he even said that he would help me and give me money if I ever need it, he thinks I'm going to sleep with him just for money?? I thought he was a good guy (he is 55 and married!!) and that his offer was good hearted but now, after that kind of attitude, I realized that he is offering me his help and money in exchange of something else >_<

Right now I'm broke as hell, trying to finish college and looking for a new place...jobs are hard to come by but I'm really uncomfortable in this job, if he keeps being like this I will start looking for another job.

He is sexually harassing you. There's nothing almost about it. Hope that car's title is in your name, not his, and that it's paid off.

I'm a boss now, but my bosses along the line have varied. Some didn't know what they were talking about, some were extremely laid back, and some were unnecessarily anal. My personal favorite was one of my first. He pushed me hard, but I learned so much because of him.

In all the organizations I worked, it's always as follows: Out of 10 bosses, you get 1 great, 3 okay, 4 bad, 2 horrendous and it gets worse as you get higher in ladder. Just remember they stepping stones and no more. They see you the same way.
