As each season there inevitably appear concerns from some people about the number of mystery or "?" boxes CR's lineup page starts with, I've decided to keep a log in this topic. It will note how many boxes were listed on specific dates, so that this topic can be used to assuage any worries.

If you note any changes in the number of boxes that aren't reflected here, feel free to post a message. As always, any other comments are welcome, and please point out any apparent errors you see.

Please note that as the lineup page is geo-filtered, any filled boxes for series that are not available in the United States (such as Selector Infected WIXOSS for the spring 2014 season) will not be reflected in the box counts and snapshots.

Snapshot at 7:13 PM EDT 06/25/2015

Apparently the initial number of boxes was 9 but was bumped to 12 within a couple of hours (and before I got home from work and grabbed a screenshot).

Snapshot at 2:35 AM EDT 08/27/2015

After the box count on July 10, 2015 was bumped to 27, it briefly dipped back to 25 when two simulcasts not available on CR in the United States were added, before then returning to 27.

The difference between the earlier and later box counts on July 9, 2015, is that CR added in the missing box for My Wife is the Student Council President, which had been announced back on July 3 and had already been premiered.

The lineup posted on July 4, 2015 is an anomaly, not only for the skipped boxes, but also because it doesn't have sufficient boxes for the simulcasts that have already been announced. As of 07/03, CR had 14 announced simulcasts (13 anime, 1 drama), and had announced 7 more anime simulcasts at AX on July 4. Those announcements alone would result in 21 boxes, a number CR didn't exceed until July 7.

I currently count a total of 47 anime titles premiering this summer. Of those, Daisuki was to have 2 exclusives (God Eater and the second cour of The IDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls, although the former has proven to not be as "exclusive" as announced), and Funimation has 20 summer simulcasts (5 continuing simulcasts, 15 new titles).

While I originally allowed for that there could be some titles shared between Funimation and CR, that didn't happen (within English speaking countries). With at least one or two titles inevitable to have no simulcast, CR appears to have a "hard cap" of 30, and with 28 announced new anime simulcasts, CR has bested my prediction of 25-26 (even if we discount one title for being a one episode special).

It should be 1 more because Selector Infected WIXOSS isn't on your lineup.

He lives in the States and SIW isn't available there, ergo not on his page.

Thanks. I grabbed a snapshot and updated the initial message.

I really to to look for a free app that will allow me to capture or "print" the full length of the web page to an image. As I currently have to shrink the image to fit in the visible portion of screen to use the Print Screen key, it is beginning to get rather small.

In Firefox you can do that by opening the Developer Toolbar (Shift + F2) and then typing "screenshot --fullpage"

On Chrome I use an extension called Webpage Screenshot

Thanks. I tried both.

The Webpage Screenshot extension is easier to use, but has one drawback: When I select edit to save a page, the spellchecker in Chrome underlines all the text it doesn't recognize with a red line. As such, I have to disable spellcheck to get a clean snapshot.

It would be nice if there were a Firefox extension that would place a button at the top right of the browser to invoke the functionality of the "screenshot --fullpage" command of the Firefox Developer Toolbar.

04/08/2014:

I updated the box count and snapshot again. We currently stand at boxes for 33 new simulcasts, and I suspect we are nearing the end. I would be pleasantly surprised to see it exceed 35 total.

04/09/2014:

Color me pleasantly surprised, then. We now stand at 37 total boxes for new simulcasts.

I thought they had added boxes and didn't count the rows carefully. In fact, it was just Ping Pong removing one from the US view. I've changed today's entry to a single listing with a count of 36.

That still beats my expectation of 35.

UPDATE 04/22/2014:

I posted what will likely be the final update until near the end of May. The final tally (from a US perspective) was 37 new simulcasts, with 34 being anime.
