I understand in regards to the legal aspects of it, why Region restrictions for shows like "Naruto" and "One piece" are present. What I fail to understand is why you don't put this in BOLD on the sign up page where I clicked "YES" to becoming a premium member. I am happy I can watch a "few" anime titles. I just don't like the fact I am paying 100% the fee for only 30% the shows. Seems a little shady to me, again I know it can't be helped but I would like to know if the price for premium membership in countries with more shows are increased or not? I don't think it would be nice to charge someone the same price you are charging another person with the only difference being, that the second person gets more for his money. I mean I know how much crunchy roll staff and partners preach about "Supporting the industry" and that's of course a good cause to be fighting for, however you can't come back at us with "Well there is alternative titles to watch on our website!" Sorry I don't feel like watching another title thank you very much. Then you turn up your nose at piracy and shun it acting the heroes of anime. When really, what else do you expect us to do? we can't view it in our county because you only buy the region rights for countries in which you know more viewers of a particular anime title is present.. Is it our faults our fellow country men don't like the same kind of entertainment as us few who do, you want us to go around promoting anime in the streets?

Anyway regardless I know it can't be changed I just hope the pricing's are adjusted in regards to anime title quantity.

If you didn't like what you saw in the free trial, why did you pay?

What free trial is that? And for the record I stated above I am happy I can watch a "few" anime titles so at no point stating I was unhappy with the service, I just failed to fully comprehend the fact that I must pay the same amount as someone else who can watch more.

Hi,

I moved this over to Suggestions / Feedback, since that seemed most appropriate for it.

CR always tries to get as many shows in as many regions as possible, but sometimes, those rights aren't available from the Japanese license holder, either because it's been purchased by another company in the region, or they just aren't interested in licensing out to that region. Sometimes, the rights have even been picked up by a North American company, and CR has to sub-license it from them, meaning they are restricted to the regions acquired by the first company.

The Premium memberships allow immediate access to HD, commercial-free videos and the apps available to your region, so if you look at it that way, maybe you won't see it as a "rip-off."

I've said it before but I think the Crunchyroll have to do something about the perceived price imbalance.

One thing that would probably go a long way towards helping would be regional exclusives in other territories. A bit like they managed with a few titles this season.

Making the other regions feel special by at least having a few local-but-not-US rights would be nice. Especially if they can, somehow, get the non US (including UK/Australia/etc rights for non-American English regions) from companies like Funimation who stream in the US/Canada but sit on the English-language rights for other countries.

All that would go a long way towards proving "on stage" that CR are trying to do what they can for other regions. As currently all the effort is "behind the scenes" so we don't see the work, only the results. Which, all too often, are "Not Available In Your Region" - regardless of how hard CR were probably negotiating.

As things stand, i can see them slowly starting to lose non-American subscribers. Because if the specific shows that people want to watch are on CR, but not locally, people aren't going to keep paying to explore other shows. They're going to save their money.

In my case, I have cancelled my recurring payment so my membership won't auto-renew at the end of November. Mainly because of this licensing BS, and I pretty much said as much in my cancellation request.
Granted, there's still a pretty high chance that I will choose to renew anyway. Having said that, it means that me renewing is not guaranteed. Renewing will be a choice, and require putting in effort at the time. And that's about the most "official" way I can think of letting them know I'm not pleased with the current outcome and that I'm not entirely confident in them going forward.
