I typically read reviews, watch footage of the game, and then decide whether or not I would want the game based on that. How about you?

Read the reviews, watch some clip, or just rent it for a day from RedBox.

I tend to do the same things, but I also like to look for what games they are compared to. Of course if they are made by a familiar developer I tend to not worry too much of reviews. It's good to see what people in forums think since, I have liked games with weak review before.

I watch trailers, read about the game, a little bit. I rarely look at reviews, before I buy a game... I like to decide for myself, wether a game is good or not.

The name and genre, no really. That's why I'm only going to buy FFX X-2 Remake, Tales of Symphonia HD Chronicles, Dark Souls 2, Bravely Default, FF XIII Lightning Returns, Witch and the Hundred Knight, Mario Kart 8 and possibly (if it comes out this year) Smash Bros. this year and nothing else. Four known RPGs, one RPG whose name sounded cool, one RPG I had shoved down my throat about how awesome it was, one known fighting game and one known racing game. Everything else I will either rent from Gamefly or just won't play.

I I decide whether or not to buy a game based on how much money I have. I buy a lot of crappy games that I only play for not even 10 minutes.

I buy games on a whim. If I'm looking for a game with a certain genre in mind, I'll buy it. That's how I got into "Persona", "Agarest of War", "Blazblue", "Tales of" and other series. I just look, say "why not" and buy it.

I don't listen to reviews mainly because I like to judge things myself, not from what others say. Ex. I loved Sonic Unleashed but it got a lot of bad reviews. (the reviews i read trashed on it anyway). And even if the reviewer gives the same rating I would give to a game, it would be for entirely different reasons lol.

I'll read reviews from game journalist, as well as the community. Also if the game does interest me, and if I feel like spending money on it. Chances are I'll pick it up. Also, if my friends pick it up, and want to play online. I'll get it too, to just in on the fun.

I just spontaneously look for games, and then sometimes (keyword "sometimes") I look for reviews, and if it is multiplayer I may collaborate with my friends and see if it is something we are all willing to play. Whether I buy a game or not also depends on how much money I have.

Demos. Demos. Trailers. Demos.

I can't trust anyone's opinion on games anymore.

Sister: "Atelier is great! You should try it!" - Result: "Holy crud, this game is worse than a fish and peanutbutter sandwich!"

Best Friend: "Play With and the Hundred Knight! I love it!" - Result: "Jesus, what is? I can't tell if this is a best em up or a RPG!"

Game Store employee: "Hyperdimension Neptunia is kinda cool." - Result: "Gosh this game is terrible... Huh... Nepgear is kind of a turn on." *Continues to buy entries in the series because... Nepgear(And Uni... And Noire.)*
