If I met someone who enthralled me, and she couldn't cook worth a damn, it'd be kind of cute. We would learn together if she really wanted to change it.

Did someone call?
I can cook certain things but I rather leave that to the experts like my mom.

Have you met one? I live with one.
Does it matter? Not really; I prefer to cook anyways
Does it impact the relationship? Nope; she orders the pizza
Does she try to learn? She doesn't really get better.. White girls can never make bentos anyway, even though she has lived with the best Japanese cook in the world (and I'm not talking about myself).

i've know 'em, i've been one, and i've learned not to be one.

cooking is a skill that can be learned. People just chose not to practice it.

Yes, it does matter. I think it matters for just about anyone, and not just women either. Everyone should learn the basics of cooking besides putting things into a microwave and calling it a day.

If the person doesn't even take their time to learn even a little bit of cooking, to me that signals a lack to better oneself. If the person can't be bothered to learn to cook by themselves, then there is also a high probability that the person would not know how to properly take care of themselves, let alone others.

And remember, don't be like Akane Tendo...

Well it depends on what you define as "cooking".

I cant make any fancy dishes that my dad can make but I by no means cant cook. I don't cook as much as I would like to (#uni) but I can definitely make something that's healthy and edible. With that being said, I think it's very important for everyone to know how to cook. It's just one of those life skills that everyone should have. So yes, it matters. But cooking is mostly following instructions if you're just a beginner, so I think it's really hard to screw up.

I often get injure when trying to prep something in the kitchen. I think it's a curse or something or maybe I just suck at cooking. I better leave the professionals to the cooking and have them to deliver.

If you decided to break up with a girl because she can't cook then there's something wrong with you and not her, because that's a very shallow reason. Honestly I think it comes down to willingness to put effort into cooking, if you can read and put things together then I don't see any reason why ANYONE men or women can't make something edible.

You should tell this to my aunt who has been trying to cook for 20 years and still burns water. We've bought her high quality pots, pans, grills, utensils, food ingredients, and her "food" still tastes like elmer's glue.

Knowing how to feed yourself should be a skill everyone has but if they are really bad at it or refuse to learn then they can do the dishes.

What are all these females doing out of the kitchen and posting in forums. You better be on a laptop in the kitchen.

It's anyone's choice to cook or not to cook. it's not just a woman thing or a man thing. Yes at some point some of us learnt how other just didn't take to it or didn't like doing it. It's easier to be more adaptable if you know how to cook though.
