90% of them hipsters like Clannad (AS) because KyoAni.

You have got to be kidding me. Where are you basing that from?
Only people who are true to themselves will admit that they like KyoaAni and its moe. So, a select FEW.

CLANNAD is so overrated it is not even funny. The first season is filled with over acting, forced humor and "cuteness", too much moe, characters with flat, generic personalities/moe as a characterization. Cliche after cliche filled the run, and the storyline was not well thought out. The girls were either Tsunderes, Loli's, acted like toddlers or subservient Waifu's and it dragged on and on (especially with the Fuko arc) and the conclusion was outrageously over exaggerated.

CLANNAD After Story fixed some of the flaws - it was much better written, and had a better story overall. But it was still filled again with Moe, forced cuteness/humor, over acting and major over exaggeration. Characters had moe/loli/Tsaundere as a personality or filled in the stereotypical bubbles of characterization, and not in a good way. Nagisa was the absolute stereotypical Waifu, and she was subservient, docile and a total stereotype of a Japanese housewife/wife.

Anyone who thinks this nonsense is a good romance series and the "best" is out of their mind or they think moeblobs make good characters.

Only great things about both series were the artwork/ animation and of course the music.

No one ever said Clannad was that good in the first place.

Also, Clannad After Story is one of the most emotional, heartbreaking stories in existence. There is no Waifu. And you probably didn't finish Clannad After Story because you didn't mention the most important character of Clannad After Story.

And if you're going to complain that it doesn't matter or that you did, then mention all of the important characters.

If you think Clannad After Story is shallow when the entire world loves it be my guest. Have satisfaction in hating something everyone else enjoys. I don't see the point in hating a good anime. It's better to enjoy and use your time productively.

In my case, it changed my life. Anyone, who thinks this is generic and has moe is out of their mind. This was a depressing haunting tale. After Story has nothing to do with moe. You have literally got to be kidding me. The only part of Afterstory that makes it not a 10/10 was Fuko IMO. Otherwise, given the score and the animation it was absolutely bafflingly amazing.

''The entire world loves it''. I'm sure that's the case, you Clannad freak. So it's more productive to like a anime than to hate it? I learn something new everyday. You might hold the record of the most ignorant Clannad fanboi ive seen so far, congratulations.

That being said, Clannad was generic, boring, pointless and had retarded characters (Aiming at Nagisa). Come at me, hate on my opinion.

I should watch Ef so I could comment. Although I liked Clannad and Afterstory, I thought they were the weakest out of the Key productions I've seen. I thought Little Busters and Angel Beats were both better. Maybe its because you can't get me to cry unless you get me to laugh first. Don't get me wrong I liked Clannad, but I wasn't emotionally "high" enough to be thrown down low enough comparatively come the later half of after story.

sup, been awhile.

quoting myself from when I finished this.

503 anime very very nice the last two episodes exceeded my expectations for this anime also I'd like to add that ef~ a tale of melodies is on par with ef~ a tale of memories and both will be my favorite although this will be ranked third it is the same.

Clannad:After Story > Ef: A tale of Melodies > Clannad > Ef: A tale of Memories

I would have putting memories ahead of the first season of clannad, but I would love memories even more if it was just about Chihiro. Not that the other story was bad, but I wasn't all that keen on it, plus am not the biggest fan of love triangles.

Clannad, because Clannad was more focused on family than romance. If you didn't notice, Tomoya wasn't just dating Nagisa, he was in a relationship with her family. Akio and Sanae were like the best parents / grandparents ever. If Little Busters had just focused slighlty less on romance it would have been right up there with Clannad for me.

Ef had too much romantic drama for me to say that it was better than Clannad.

Clannad. The animation and the way the girls look really bugs me in EF.

Clannad has stuck with me for 5 years, EF can't even really remember.
