ABOUT HALF-LIFE

Half Life takes place on Earth in a time where Technology has advanced into Digital Realities. The world here is just like our current world only now with new high tech games: The most popular being Altelia. Your character in this generation ( it could be an adult, a child, a student, anyone! ) has recently decided to try out this game. The game is played through a headset which is linked to the game file on your laptop/desktop. To start the game, a voice commanding system would send "you" into Altelia by the words "System Start up." Take note that none of the abilities you gain In game influence your skills In Real Life. You are nothing more than a human playing a game.
ALTELIA GUIDELINES
You enter the game as YOURSELF. You have your skin tone, your hair style, your eyes - everything! The only thing different is that your face & body is slightly modified so that you may keep your identity a secret. ( BTW when I say modified I don't mean suddenly deformed or suddenly sexy as hell either. They're just slight changes. )

As you level up you gain coupons to modify your character even more! When you start your character you are given the choice to start with one of the four BASIC elements ( Fire, Water, Earth, Air ). You are also given two weapons. Your MAIN ( Bow, Sword, Axe, STAFF etc. The heavy duty/damage dealing weapons ) & a SUB weapon ( throwing knives, daggers, heck you can even use a book. Note: Your sub weapon can NOT be heavier or bigger than your Main ).

You realize that you can use your Elemental Abilities through your weapons. No weapon means no Magic so don't forget to visit the Blacksmith to repair your equipment! In Altelia, You can Fight regular monsters out in the field, Party with other members, Buy Potions & Equipment from NPCs in Town, and even got dungeoning for Boss kills! May the Goddess bless your Journeys, young Adventurer.

R U L E S
LEVELING SYSTEM

    • RULE NUMBER UNO: YOU MUST READ THESE RULES
    • NO God-modding. I STG if I see an OP character in there I'm going to whip up someone's butt.
    • All RP replies must be SKIRT-LENGTHED. As in no shorter than 2 sentences. If you want to write paragraphs then that's fine but let's save the essay writing for school, yeah?
    • You must wait for character confirmation before RP. If you don't I will personally omnom you out.
    • No spoiler snakeys please. I don't like snakes and a neat RP is the best, don't you think?
    • If I catch anyone cheating the LEVELING SYSTEM, I will eat you. It's no fun to cheat, like guys. Seriously. DON'T cheat.
    • Now that you've read all these Rules highlight the last bullet under Goodies&Bosses to get your password
    • 3 posts = 1 Level
    • There are 50 Levels Max
    • From level 1-15 your character would be on Tier ONE
    • From level 15-32 your character ranks up to Tier 2
    • From Lvl 32-45 your character ranks up to Tier 3
    • From Lvl 45- 50 (max level) your character ranks up to Tier 4
    • If you do the math, to get to max Level you have to post a total of 150 posts. I will be checking on the post number. & to clear things up on the post count: You are Person A and you post (1). If Person B quotes your post, that is considered as (1) post for Person B. Person A would then quote as Post (2), and so forth.

  • TIER INFORMATION
    BOSSES & GOODIES

  • As you may know, in Altelia each player starts out with one main BASIC element. This SINGLE ( no your character cannot be some mad hacker that managed to get all 4 elements like the Avatar. ) element is considered as Tier 1. As your character levels up, you are able to Rank Up in Tiers. As you rank you are able to ENHANCE your current element or GAIN a new one. Keep in mind that if you gain all 4 elements you will NOT be able to Enhance them since you have used up all 4 Tiers.

    • Tier 1: ONE of the four BASIC elements. If I see some Ice or Light or any element of that kind, I'm going to personally PM you to re-read the rules.
    • Tier 2/3/4: ENHANCE current basic element or GAIN a new one.
    • AIR enhancement is FLIGHT. No, you don't sprout wings and fly but you are able to float a couple feet off the ground. You canNOT soar into the clouds UNLESS you enhance AIR to Tier 3 ( as in you have air for both tier 1-3 ) Your AGI increases with FLIGHT.
    • WATER enhancement is ICE. You can freeze things but do not abuse this ability. You are not Elsa unless you enhance WATER to Tier 3. INT increases with ICE.
    • FIRE enhancement is LIGHTNING. You cannot rain a thousand thunderbolts on your enemies until you enhance your FIRE to Tier 3. Your ATK increases with LIGHTNING.

    • EARTH (passive/active) enhancement is EARTH (passive/active). Earth Passive is control of plant life. Vines, grass, even flowers. Earth Active is the earth itself. Dirt, Solid Ground, Boulders, etc. You may only choose ONE type of Earth Type skill in the beginning ( whilst it be passive or active ). You can choose to either ENHANCE the Earth Type you have or Gain another the other type. DEF increases with ANY earth type enhancement.

Also Keep in mind that as a Tier 1 Passive Earth user, you are not like poison ivy that can grow things at will. You are only able to manipulate the living environment. You gain the ability to "create" plant life at Tier 3 for Passive Earth.

For Active Earth, you are not able to use skills such as EARTHQUAKE & LANDSLIDE until your Active Earth is at Tier 2.

    • IF YOU ENHANCE YOUR BASIC SKILL TO ALL 4 TIERS, YOUR PLAYER GAINS A SPECIAL ULTIMATE MOVE THAT ALLOWS THEIR BODY TO TAKE THAT ELEMENT'S FORM (for a while)

    • LVL 2: Hair Coupon (Can Change Hairstyle)
    • LVL 5: Hair Dye
    • LVL 5 (BOSS): Spider Queen
    • LVL 10: Eye Color Coupon

"System Start up." Misha murmured. Her eyes were shut but even if she did open them she would see nothing but black due to the headset which covered one-third of her face. She felt a rush of adrenaline when she felt herself being pulled out of her body and into the game - Misha knew it wasn't really happening but that's how it felt.

"Opening" her eyes, she was now no longer Misha Chen but Calliope. Calliope the Flame Bow master. Everything was just as it was since the last time she signed out. She was in town - one of the save spots in the game - and lying in an inn room she rented using in-game currency.

Pulling herself up, Calliope closed and unclosed her fists. Her senses seemed to be working just fine. "Perfect." She murmurs, stepping out. Her well loved bow was strapped onto her back and her thighs were strapped with two arrow-filled quivers. Violet eyes sparkled with excitement as she raced down the town, passing NPCs and players like herself.

She should've watched where she was going. Calliope really should've.

Impatiently sitting with all her gear on, Mao waited for her brother to launch up his game. Having already preplanned her and his characters, she was rearing to go. But accidentally twitching too far, she had mumbled the key words without realizing and fell in the game first.

Wuliette frowned. This was not what the girl was expecting. Standing there staring at the town, the character bit her bottom lip. What happened to her dear brother-sister bonding time?

Taken aback by a sudden thudding sound, Wuliette looked up too slow before she was taken down by some girl she didn't know.

"Oof!" Calliope mumbled, rubbing her forehead which suffered most of the impact. "Woah-- I-i'm so sorry!" Calliope cried, scrambling back up on her feet. Her arrows were scattered but right now the stranger was more important. "Are you okay? Oh gosh I'm so sorry. What were you doing standing in the middle of the street though," Calliope apologized. Her following comment sounded almost scornful.

The red-headed brunette did not mean for her words to sound like so. She was just a blunt person who sounded sharper than she intends. "You aren't hurt anywhere are you?" She then asks, after dusting herself off. Violet eyes peered curiously at the female in front of her. The stranger looked no older than Calliope herself. ( But then again In game it was almost impossible to tell )

"What the hell, you started first?" Someone kicked Mao, shoving her to the side. Although it didn't affect her game play in any way.

Wuliette looked up and down at the girl.

"Middle of the street? I'm in front of a restaurant. Is she blind? Would it offend her if I asked if she was blind? But why else would she ask me why I'm standing. Was she asking in confirmation of our current location? Would it help her if I corrected her? But then I would just be nosy wouldn't I? What am I even doing right now? She must think I'm crazy just standing here thinking. But this is a game. Can people even be blind in a game? I mean, I know status afflictions and all but, it's not as if we're in a battle zone right now..."

Although her thoughts took her everywhere, it didn't take her even a second to think of all of them. Snapping back, she shook her head. "How about you?" she asked.

The silence had left Calliope more worried than annoyed. Hearing the stranger suddenly answer, relieved her and she showed it obviously through a sigh. "Thank Odin, you can speak." She says, clearly speaking everything that comes to mind.

    How free.

"I'm just going to assume your fine. You don't seem bruised or bleeding anywhere." Calliope says as she inspects the girl. From the looks of things, the girl seemed like a beginning. She did not seem to have used or received any hair coupons or dyes yet. Calliope doubted herself when she saw the stranger's eyes.

They were purple - just like hers. But a far lighter purple as if they were amethysts themselves. "Oh! My arrows!" Calliope exclaimed rushing to pick up the fallen ones which were fading. To her embarrassment, they disappeared before she could reach them. When she looked down at her quivers, she remembered that this was a game. And like all MMORPG games (even virtual reality ones), Calliope's quiver never ran empty.

"Whoops. I forgot." She mumbled mostly to herself. Her hands rubbed the back of her reddish brown hair. "Sorry about that again, Miss." Calliope bows, truly looking apologetic.

Someone put their butt next to Mao, leaning on her as they booted up too. "Don't you dare get ahead of me."

    Wuliette raised an eyebrow.

"Odin? Does she believe in norse mythology? I'm not supposed to react to that word right? Arrows? Oh so, bow and arrow user. Or does she use bolts or crossbow or longbow? Or...why does it matter to me? Can't speak? Of course I can speak. How would I be able to play if I couldn't type the letters to speak?"

Her mind rambling off for less time than it took to blink, Wuliette focused back on the situation. Smiling, she extended a hand out and said, "No problem. I'm Wuliette. Guess it's fate, bumping into you?"

"Depends on why you would say that," Calliope replied with a friendly smile. She took the female's hand and shook it good naturedly. "Calliope. Pleasure to meet you." At those words Calliope had heard a soft "ping" sound in the corner of her mind.

This was her third time logging in, so it wasn't exactly hard for her to get the grips. "Ooh, hold on." She suddenly says, her left hand swiped at the space of air before her. A hologram of her player data and stats appeared. In the corner of the transparent screen was a small present box. "Ah?" She questions, clicking on the box and confirming the request to open it.

Her screen flickered and before her, a type of coupon materialized before her. "Hair style coupon, ay?" She murmurs to herself looking quite pleased at the free gift. "That's neat." The archer tucks it away in her pocket. Her attention reverts to Wulliette. "Sorry about that. You're new here aren't you?"

Button pressing, butt rubbing. All that good stuff, yeah?

"Congratulations," Wuliette greeted, a friendly smile on the girl's face. "Are you planning to use it?"

The character stretched her fingers, still getting the hang of the whole virtual reality thing. Not that it was her first time, but new game, new feelings to get used to.

"Near?" Wuliette asked, tilting her head. Thoughts were rambling themselves through but none of them were legitimate sentences. Mostly just broken phrases trying to piece themselves together.

"Ah oops" Calliope blushed, her cheeks turning red at the mistake she made. If it was a typo it would've been more forgivable. She had no idea what invoked her to say that. "I mean new." Silently she wondered if it was her subconsciousness trying to keep her from being so sharp-tongued.

"And yeah. I think so." Calliope smiled, glancing at her auburn, chin-length hair. "I'm not quite sure who I ought to turn this into though," She murmurs looking around the town. While doing so, she took mind to step further from the entrance, exit and crossways so she would not run into anyone ( or have anybody run ino her ) again.

Wuliette giggled, lifting her hands up to cover her mouth. "You're entertaining," she commented.

Seeing Calliope scanning the town, Wuliette figured—through her intense thought process—that the girl didn't want to bump into anyone. Reaching her left arm out, she held her new acquaintance's arm.

"Let's move together then," she added, her grin wide. "Brother'll find me even if I'm not here," Wuliette thought.

Calliope's features brightened at the idea. "Sure thing. Two heads work better than one after all," She answers with a nod. Her finger directs itself at a nearby NPC which was not interacting with any players. "Let's try asking her," Calliope says already leading Wulliette forward.

The explanation was short and helpful. The two girls found their way into the Coupon Exchange Vendor with ease. Calliope decided that the NPC which had helped them was awfully nice - even though it was only just a NPC.

They were both greeted by an old looking man - old but not to the point where the NPC was a shriveled stalk. "Ah, you're here to exchange coupons too, Young missies?" He asked in a wispy voice. Calliope nodded, curious but eager. She handed him the coupon which he did not need to glance at to know what it was.

"You can choose any hairstyle to your liking. Keep in mind that once you've chosen it, you would not be able to change it unless you have another coupon. Coupons can be bought with IRL currency at your local retailer store."

"Oh," Calliope says making a strange face. As much as she loved gaming, she saw it a waste to spend it in game. "Well okay. It'll be a waste to use it anyways," The girl shrugs. "Did you get a coupon too though, Wullie?"

Wuliette glanced at the NPC. Even now it amazed her, how virtual reality works, how NPCs work. Obviously they must have a set dialogue triggered by certain words, but...

Lost in thought she didn't snap back to focus until Calliope asked her a question, followed by an odd nickname. "Wullie?" she repeated. Nodding, Wuliette held up the coupon.

"Figure I'll save until I get an entire set before using any," she commented. Wuliette didn't exactly have completely natural features to begin with, so she wasn't in any rush to change her appearance. Besides, it would make her brother harder to find her. Although that in itself wasn't an entirely bad idea. The thought of him desperately trying to find her made the girl blush.

Putting it back in her sack, the girl peeked outside the area, wondering what was outside the town.

Calliope nodded, giving a shrug of her shoulders. "Ah, alrighty then. Suit yourself." She hums. While saying this the brunette had chosen a pigtailed hairstyle which fell down near the midsection of her back. She never had the patience to grow her hair out so this was a new change for her. The tips of her hair had glowed white with light. Slowly, her ends extended until the desired length. Her hair was pulled up into two flowy pigtails.

"That was fast," Calliope commented, looking quite pleased at how real it looked. She turned around, watching her locks sashay around her. Grinning at the NPC who greeted her off, Calliope thanked him also noticing how the coupon had dissolved in light while her extensions formed.

"Looking for someone?" Calliope asks noticing Wulliette's glances outside.

Wuliette looked at the girl's new hairstyle, unsure whether to say it suited her or not, as she wasn't entirely sure about the girl in front of her anyways. But she gave a smile and a generally nod, acknowledging the change.

Wuliette wondered whether short hair was more popular or long hair, and her thoughts just derailed on from there.

Hearing the question, the girl character shook her head. "Just looking forward to grinding," she replied, a small pointed grin appearing on her face.

It was the only part of games she liked, besides spending time with her brother of course. She could just mindlessly grind while thinking about things she would otherwise find to only be a waste of time.
