Wuliette looked at the girl, a twinkle of something, who knows, in her own eyes. "You might not want to make too many assumptions, Calliope," she replied.

Double checking her loot and inventory, Wuliette dusted off her clothes and turned back to her new acquaintance. Taking a bow, she said, "My apologies, but I have to log off now."

Ruffling through her pouch, Wuliette tossed the traveler's pouch to the other girl. "Think of it as a thank you for your time." Tapping her wrist, she mumbled something and went offline.

Mao took her headgear off, shaking her hair free. She looked around, her curious eyes darting to the boy next to her. "You're late," she grumbled.

Calliope blinked curiously, wondering silently to herself if it was just a trick of the light that made Wulliette's eyes twinkle. "Ah, sorry." She laughed softly, rubbing the back of her head. It was in her nature to say whatever came to mind. She wasn't blunt, just very unsecretive.

"I-- thanks!" Calliope mustered just before the player flickered and broke off into a dozen colorful digital pieces. "I guess I better hand this in," The albino mutters to herself. A grin slowly formed on her lips seeing that she had yet another gift box icon in the corner of her screen. "Level 5."

"Thank you for the hard work!" she chimed when her last cleaning task was completed.

Hunching slightly, she headed for a quick bath.

"Ah! Refreshed!" she shouted in delight before she could get caught by her disapproving guardian.

She raced out of the temple, laughing gleefully as her guardian hollered behind her. It was the beginning of spring and she took a deep breath of the fresh Sakura flowers, bought a sandwich and wriggled her toes above the koi pond. Her shadow shortened with time and she got up excitedly. She was introduced to a new game in town. Something that requires an identification using her nude body before putting on some weird helmet. She headed for nearest game store and had her bio scans. She greeted the owner politely who returned the gesture. This young priestess-in-training was quite well-liked in this small town for her cheerful personality. Then, she headed for a free trial game session by a kind storekeeper. Her head was smaller than the helmet but that did not matter - she was too occupied by the beautiful graphics.

"System activate!" she shouted happily despite knowing sound activation was not a requirement. She was oblivious to the stares she was getting in the store. After all, she was heading to a different world.

Her profile setup was difficult. She wanted to try a different role in virtual world but the scans read that she was more suited for the role of a shaman. Not that she would be disappointed by the choice - monsters were not scary to her. It was the traditions she hated. The element was randomly assigned and she landed in a No-Battle zone of the "Welcome" Town. She wished she had more eyes to take in her new environment. Her personality went unchanged. She greeted both NPCs and fellow players in her usual chirrup style. It won't hurt to make new friends.

"Now where should I go?" she wondered aloud at the edge of town.

( switched accs. sorry for the confusion )

After handing in the bag to NPC Benjamin, Calliope headed went back out to the field slashing away at slimes to finish her previous quest for the merchant - Half through the amount of slimes she needed to collect, her weapon fell into a critical level which indicated that she ought to get her repairs done too.

With a huff, Calliope made her way back to Town. "It's for the better," She mumbles to herself. Her blistered hands wipe away at the "sweat" which formed on her brow. "At least now I can buy some more potions!" As she entered town, Calliope couldn't help but over heard the greetings a certain player was giving.

"Pff, she seems nice," Calliope thought to herself with a grin. She did not head over however, wanting to focus on her repairs and item buying first. "Oh, there's a new quest around here too." The girl mumbles to herself, noticing a worried looking NPC. Usually, those who had quest would take extra measures to make eye contact with the players. The worried NPC lady was no different.

The unique new player approached Calliope. She sifted through the menu and clicked on "Player Stats"

"Wow. Hello there, Calliope! Good morning! You have a pretty cool weapon there! I am new here! Pleased to meet you!"

She rattled on about the town's design and the gameplay, not letting Calliope speak. She was feeling a high which new players would experience in new environment. She also began spinning crazily while hugging a book.

Calliope was surprised when the stranger had approached her. "Ca.. Camilla is it?" Calliope asked, interrupting her during the girl's breathing interval. "Pleasure to meet you too," The player greets warmly. She giggled, finding it amusing to see Camilla so enthusiastic about the game. It reminded her fondly of her own excitement when she first logged in - up until now she still gets the same shivers very time she logs on.

"Well, seeing that you're new do you want some help around? The town here is pretty big so it's easy to get lost if you don't know where you're headed," Calliope says with a laugh. It took her hours just to find herself out of town and into the field area. The girl was more than glad to escort Camilla around, after she repaired her weapons of course.

"Ah, I see that you're an archer too. Good luck with that," Calliope comments, remembering the struggles she had to go through with the difficult longbow.

She looked down at her crossbow and sighed in resignation. There was a long face, ironic to the previously bubbly personality.

"It was not my choice. I would prefer this," she opened her menu and clicked on the sub-weapon option. "But the system requires a main weapon to be larger in size. Quite illogical! So unfair! Small weapons are lethal too!"

Her complaints were as loud as her greetings, drawing a few players' attention. Despite her occupation, she would still come across as rather attractive and her attitude spells out "newbie" aloud. This does draw attention from older male characters who were closing in. She remained oblivious to their intentions.

"Well, you are a nice girl. So you don't deserve my rantings. Would you show me around? I will treat you to ice cream!"

Calliope, who although did not have super sharp ninja senses who can smell one's evil intent from a mile's radius, was at least sensible. Sensible enough to tell that the men caving in where up to no good, so like any young lady her age, she shot them a glare and hurriedly decided to get out of the way.

"Alright, alright. There's no need for the treat. I'll show you around, but first there's a place I need to go." Calliope explained, glancing between the incoming prudes and the happy-go-lucky girl. She turned around hastily and walked in the general direction towards the repair shop. She knew the NPC Blacksmith James there would tarry no misconduct in any matter. She only turned back briefly, to urge Camilla forward in a friendly manner. "You coming?" Calliope had asked with a grin.

While they retreated further from the thugs, she engaged herself in the topic of the subweapon and what nots. "You don't actually have to use your main-- although your main would work better than your sub," Calliope laughed softly. "They sell more weapons at the Blacksmith's shop. You can switch your weapons by purchasing them from James. We're headed there right now,"

She let out a wide grin. "Of course I am making my sub weapon more powerful!"

She went on to enthusiastically struck up a conversation with the repairman assistant, who seemed pretty caught up with her. She pulled her long black hair behind her ears out of habit and pouted her lips. Could NPC blush?

Camilla couldn't wait for her first kill. Should she strike a boar or a slime? She was feeling pretty hungry at the thought of roasting either. Her excitement was too obvious on her face. She was fingering her spellbook, ignoring the crossbow on her back. The crossbow was special though. it was a rare item for a beginner and could be powered up to a rather high level. However, her spellbook was of the basic type and she felt forced to abandon it at some point of her future journey.

Misha smiled, glad to see the Camilla was doing just fine without her. With her weapons now repair, and potions restocked - Calliope took extra measures to purchase potions for her new acquaintance too.

"Here. You drink these when your magic points or health goes down." Calliope explained handing three of each colored potion to Camilla. Red for health, Blue for magic, and Purple for a mixture of both. The now-albino archer smiled ( Time phrase: she had used her hair dye coupon earlier before she had met Camilla and before she entered further into town. )

"If you're ready, we can go collect your quests and head off now." said Calliope with a warm smile. "Ah, it might be best if I add you as a friend too- in case I lose you in the crowd."

She held a hand up to touch the menu button.

"Does that mean we get to party together?" she asked without a lost of beat.

It was her first virtual game in awhile and the new head gear was magically drawing her in. She felt absorbed in a world free of traditions. Maybe she could even tame a hellish dragon! She could not help but stifle a giggle at the thought of water demons she was going to be friends with. She wondered if people will shun her like in the real world. She shook her head at the thought. Don't think. Just act.

Calliope looked surprised - just for a second - before bursting into a wide but sheepish grin. "Yes. If you want to, that is." She says, knowing all well that playing in a party was much more fun than soloing... for her anyways. The friend and party request was answered almost instantaneous. Now that they had that settle, there was only one thing left to do.

"Let's go get your quests now," Calliope cheered leading Camilla out of the shop. The two walked on, chattering about nonsensical topics; or well, Calliope was answering questions the curious archer was asking. If anything, the albino archer felt as though she was a tour guide with the way she was briefing the beginner on mostly everything she knew ( which was pretty much for a beginner. She had been reading on Atelia even before the game launched ) despite being pretty new at the game herself.

"That's Agatha (NPC). She can be a bit bossy with her requests but she gives really good rewards. Looks like she wants to tell us something now," Calliope murmured, noticing how the brunette NPC was waving them over looking hushed hushed. Her dark chocolate locks were pulled into a single braid which dangled across her right shoulder. A look of distress was paste onto her fair features.

"Ugh, thank goodness you two came. I need some help," The NPC huffed. Her arm were crossed over her simple village-like dress. "Those pesky Lysanders ( "They're the NPCS on the one block. The families are both rivals in the merchant business," Calliope whispered ) think they know it all! Just last week they were boasting about the delicious pie they made." The young lady's cheeks puffed up in a childish fury. "They dare say that the Avelets can't make better pie! I'll show them! I need you two to help me gather some slimes - about 20 will do - for the pie filling's texture. You'd do that for me won't you?"

Camilla's face brightened.

"Why, of course! Slimey slime is going to be too easy," she thought aloud. "I wonder if they will be my friends too!"

She began dreaming about squishing a slime in her bosom. She started humming happily as she accepted the NPC's offer. I wonder why they would want to hurt each other with harmless slime? She fingered her spellbook and pulled it out. The pages were mostly blank except for a default water demon known as the sea snail. They are rather similar...except my sea snail can suck HP out of the opponent.

Calliope giggled at the idea. "There's some monsters that you can befriend. I'm not sure about the slimes yet though." Seeing that Camilla has now accepted the quest, she was ready to make her way towards the field ( Calliope who had already took the quest was half way done ).

"Ah wait-- You. The fire archer. Could you help me check out that area while you're at it? There's been a lot of spiders around here lately... There's been Rumors saying that it has to do with the abandoned cave behind the Slime farm. I suggest you don't go in there alone however... that place gives me the creeps!"

Calliope was surprised. She never heard of such a quest before - but took it none the less with a startled nod. "Spiders huh? Now that I think about it.. the Lysanders were complaining about them too." She murmured to herself. Shaking herself from her thoughts, Calliope pursued the field area with Camilla at her side. They exited the town greeted by the sights of green hills, a bridge over a lake in the distance and just over that bridge, were where the slimes supposed location.

Camilla was a little confused by the double quests.

"Does that mean the slime quest can only be done by me? Wait, spiders are not my favorite! They dirty my rooms with lacefly wigns! Do I have to do the quest too?" she whined.

On a second thought, killing them seems like a good idea. They are one type of monsters I don't want as friends! So much work just to clear cobwebs! Annoying little creepers!

She steadied her crossbow. Not her weapon of choice but it would be faster than a spell should a stray spider come scurrying across their path. Crush them all!
