Do you think bullying can be justified? Are there situations where someone deserves to be bullied for reasons besides being a bully themself? Can bullying be applied to a more global scale? Explain.

this woman in my workplace deserved to be bullied.

she broke down in tears after someone else criticized her performance and bad work ethics to the board's "committee", crying "foul play" and that she has "good work ethics and always helping others".

But in my opinion, she does exactly the same thing to other people, especially new people... accusing them of bad work ethics. so I was thinking in my head, "That's karma for you, what goes around comes around".

She's hypocritical, and I don't feel sorry for people who can't see their own flaws and only see flaws in others.

I don't think so. Bullying is never justifiable since two wrongs don't make one right. Committing an injustice to someone based on revenge just creates more injustice. Just to be sure we are on the same page by bullying I understand "The use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively impose domination over others." I don't think anyone deserves that (just my opinion).

never
ever

even if the bully deserves to get bullied, it shouldn't happen.
even if the bully that should get bullied would learn his/her lesson, the end doesn't justify the means.

bullying is wrong
don't do it; help a friend in need

No, bullying is not justifiable. It's a negative situation which only serves to inflate the bully's ego. Making other people suffer for that purpose cannot be justified.

Nope.

Saying that anyone "deserves" bullying is just making excuses for a bully's behavior.

No one deserves it. It shouldn't happen. Period.

It's always the whole "two wrongs don't make a right" thing every single time.

No one should be bullied. Blaming the person being bullied, is like blaming a murder victim for being murdered.
It doesn't matter what they were wearing ($600 watch), or where they were at the time (taking a short cut through a dark alley), or how others have treated you (bill collectors are breathing down your neck, your homes foreclosed on, you were fired, and you significant other is leaving you)... There is no reason to murder someone else over a $600 watch (that you will only get $50 for at a pawn shop).

Bullying is NEVER right, AND NEVER blame the victim.

Good thing about nowadays is the Internet is a geeks playground and here the geeks are the bullies. Stand up and fight back I say! If an asshole decides to bully you at school or something, just hack his Facebook or some shit and call it karma...

No, if it's justifiable, it isn't bullying. Bullying is pure self gratification. Knocking someone down to make yourself feel better. I struggle to think of an instance where it would be OK to harm someone else for no reason other than self aggrandizement.

As for bullying on a global scale, I think that no, nations are too complex to apply such simple motives. For example, Russia didn't invade and annex Crimea to be bully. It was a cold blooded political calculation, much like the US invasion in Iraq or Western European inaction in the Balkans.

I've got to admire the man's balls. He has read the situation well, and he knows that nobody can really stop him at the moment. However, in general, annexing bits of sovereign countries through military action is not something I support.

huh. well i hadn't even thought about it that way, but i guess that could count as bullying. Of course Putin could also be called a bully. Does bullying beget bullying ?

either way i don't think it is right, no matter whose perspective you're looking from.
