Hey guys,

So we all know that feeling of "is there going to be a second season?"

For example, a couple of months ago I started reading Sword Art Online novels since I had given up on the idea of a second season. But I was wrong.

So when exactly should one turn to the manga/lighnovel?

P.S. I like to consider my self one of those "only anime" type. Although I must admit I gave in a couple times (Naruto, HxH Bleach, Fairytail, Attack on Titans)

i start reading the manga right after I've finished watching the anime. In some cases (i.e. Magi, Ao No Exorcist, Fairy Tail), I started reading the manga before the anime was finished and never went back to the anime.

Light novels... well I can only ever find summaries, and they're all online, so I don't typically pick those up. I really prefer to read books in their physical form.

I used to read the manga first and the anime second (if I am interested).
Now I look at the series, and decide which I think I would prefer to watch vs read.

I generally read the manga long after I watched the anime. But there are a few cases where I was reading the manga before the anime. Usually though its the former. So I generally read manga after I have watched the anime. I think I picked up like 3 or 4 series this season I want to read, and everything hasn't even been announced.

I want to point out that in some series the LN's are better, and sometimes it's better knowing the plot so when you see it animated it's just that much better. I'm guessing that's what will happen with SAO 2 as well.

I think that if you don't want to wait at all for stuff you should read LN/Manga and if you can somehow wait and don't like to read then I guess don't read it... that's probably my advice...

I read mangas if I really liked the anime or if someone recommend it to me. In some cases when an anime ends and I got the feeling of emptiness known as "the void", I read the manga to fill that hole. In the case of light novel that's a bit hard form me since I get tired of reading in the computer, if there is a epub version I read them but there aren´t many. Also if you can try to read visual novels they are actually fun to read.

Currently reading mangas:
The World God Only Knows, Witchcraft Works, Bleach(I just want it to end), Wagatsuma-sama is my Wife and Nisekoi.
The only Light Novel I'm currently reading is Fate/Zero
