Goood morning everyone and let's start off the weekend with some more announcements! First up is Captain Earth, airing in literally 45 minutes, on Saturdays at 11am Pacific Time!

Captain Earth will be available to Crunchyroll members in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, France and Turkey.


An original anime from the studio BONES, Captain Earth tells the story of a high school student named Daichi Manatsu who encounters the robot “Earth Engine.” He must pilot the robot in order to save the Earth from a mysterious all-mechanical lifeform “Kirutogangu” coming from Uranus.

Voice actor Miyu Irino, Saji Crossroad from the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 series, leads the cast as Daichi Manatsu. Other prominent voice actors include Hiroshi Kamiya (Izaya Orihara from Durarara!! and Trafalgar Law from One Piece), Rikiya Koyama (Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate/Zero) and Kenichi Suzumura (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny’s Shin Asuka).

Rowdy Sumo Wrestler Matsutaro!! joins our spring simulcasts, and is set to broadcast today, Saturday April 5, at 3:30pm Pacific Time.

Rowdy Sumo Wrestler Matsutaro!! will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories:





Adapted from a manga by Tetsuya Chiba, Rowdy Sumo Wrestler Matsutaro!! focuses on the traditional Japanese sport of sumo, following aspiring sumo wrestler Matsutaro Sakaguchi, a man with strength far beyond ordinary people. Although he is far stronger than anyone else when it comes to sumo, his carefree personality may prove to be his greatest weakness.

The new anime stars actor and singer Ken Matsudaira as the titular Matsutaro, along with Yuko Mizutani, also known as Pinoko from the Black Jack series, as Reiko Minami, Kozo Shioya, probably best known for Majin Buu from the Dragon Ball Z series, plays Shin Tanaka, Issei Futamata, who also voiced Mikiyasu Shinshi from the Patlabor series, plays Shimada-sensei, Bin Shimada, who also voiced Dr. Hell in Robot Girls Z, plays Nishio, and Masaharu Satou, who was also Hank from Shining Hearts, is cast as the Company President.

Baby Steps is set to broadcast every Sunday starting on April 6 at 3:00am Pacific Time!

Baby Steps will be available to Crunchyroll’s audiences in the following territories: USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), UK, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, and Turkey.



Based on the original manga by Hikaru Katsuki, Baby Steps centers on a honor student named Eiichiro Maruo who becomes frustrated with his life and decides to join the tennis club. Despite lacking experience and physical strength, he utilizes his studious nature to develop a strategic approach to playing tennis. Taking notes of his opponents’ habits and tendencies, he is able to predict their next move before they even react. He also meets Natsu Takasaki, a beautiful girl with a passion for tennis. With her help, he aims to become a professional tennis player.

Eiichiro will be voiced by Log Horion’s Aizel, Taishi Murata while Natsu will be played by Tiger & Bunny’s Blue Rose, Minako Kotobuki. Singer songwriter Mao Abe will be performing “Believe in Yourself” for the anime’s opening theme.

Haikyu!! SPIKES ITS WAY into our spring simulcast line up, and is set to broadcast every Saturday starting on April 6th, at 2:00am Pacific Time.

Haikyu!! will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.



Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shōyō Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the "King of the Court" Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
 
Voice actress Ayumu Murase, who also played Antoni Gaudí from Nobunagun, will be voicing Shōyō  Hinata, while Tobio Kageyama will be voiced by Saint Seiya’s Pegasus Seiya, Kaito Ishikawa.

Next up is Broken Blade TV EDITION! Set to broadcast every Sunday starting on April 6, at 8:00am Pacific Time.

Broken Blade TV EDITION will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories:




A spin off of the 2012 six-film release, the story of Broken Blade TV EDITION takes place in Cruzon, a land where people are born with the power to control quartz. This power allows them to control giant complex battle suits called Golems. Rygart Arrow is an un-sorcerer, a rare individual who does not have the ability to control quartz. One day he gets letter from the king of Cruzon, his friend from military school. The king informs Arrow that war is approaching and about the discovery of an ancient Golem that no one has been able to move. Will an un-sorcerer be the key to activating it?

The new Broken Blade TV EDITION is a recompilation of the six part film series with added scenes that were not animated. The series will be directed by the original creator Yunosuke Yoshinaga. Returning cast members include Souichiro Hoshi as Arrow, Shiwa Saito as Sigyn Erster and Yuichi Nakamura as King Hodr. There will also be a new opening and ending song sung by Sayaka Sasaki and Aira Yuki respectively.

Brynhildr in the Darkness is set to broadcast every Saturday starting on April 05, at 7:00am Pacific Time.

Based on the original manga by Rin Okamoto, Brynhildr in the Darkness focuses on the high school student Ryota Murakami, who cannot forget his friend Neko Kuroha whom died in an accident when they were children. He obsessively tries to fulfill his promise to Neko by attempting to find proof of the existence of aliens. One day, a girl who has the same name and looks like his deceased friend transfers into his class. It turns out that she is a witch that has run away from a research lab.

The anime stars Risa Taneda, Beyond the Boundary’s Mirai Kuriyama, as Neko Kuroha and Ryota Osaka, known for his roles as Nice from Hamatora and Sadao Maō from The Devil is a Part-Timer, will be playing Ryota Murakami.
