Good morning everyone! We're interrupting your lazy Sunday to announce the acquisition of 2 new titles, DRAGON COLLECTION and ORECA BATTLE!

Both titles actually air in Japan as part of the same time block, and both are based off of Konami games, and will be airing on Crunchyroll starting Monday, April 7 at 3:30am Pacific Time.

ORECA BATTLE and DRAGON COLLECTION will be available to Crunchyroll Premium members worldwide ex Asia, and available to free members in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.

Based off of Konami’s arcade card game Monster Chronicles ORECA BATTLE, the anime adaptation revolves around a young boy named Faiya Orega who loves Oreca competitions. One day, he is granted the power to summon real Oreca monsters due to the mysterious powers of the treasure chest Pandora. To protect the peace of the Oreca world, Faiya must fight the demon king who threatens the land.

Oreca is a popular card game that allows players to fight, capture, raise and combine monsters to create new creatures. The game first started in Japan in 2012. The card game also spawned a manga spin-off drawn by Satoshi Yamaura.

Meh. "Mekaku City Actors" will definitely be streamed. CR just haven't announced it yet.

When's "No Game No Life" or "Manga Artists & Assistants"?

BTW, is it just me or did they add Season 1 of Wagnaria (Working) to the catalogue? I swear I remember that CR had only Season 2.

why? It's not as though picking up those series makes them less likely to get other ones.

The original series was added not long after the first premiered (about two weeks, as I recall).

UPDATE:

It appears that the original series was added on October 10, 2011 or earlier:

In contrast, the second series premiered in Japan on October 1, 2011, but didn't start on CR until October 8.

I second the "Why?" question. It isn't as if these bumped something else off the acquisition list, and I doubt the licenses cost very much.

That's a lot of card games. These titles weren't particularly on my radar but more is always good. Who knows, I might check them out one day when I have a lot of time on my hands. So good on CR for getting them.

...Why? That's kinda selfish thinking. I think every show out there, people want to see subbed. These two shows are no exception (for instance, I wanted to see them). Why would you want any show not to have a legal venue for streaming?

^Maybe I'm wrong but I think, CR has some kind of budget for each season, so picking up one series means less money for others.
