Well, I'm just a few years over 100 years old. I can still run laps and everything, so I'd like to think it's quite possible.

What about the prospect of being murdered? No amount of life support could stop a bullet through your skull.

not when the universe tears itself apart and all matter and energy in this universe condenses into a tiny dot.

immortal is a word used to describe the gods... we are but mere mortals.

I would love to live up to the year 5000 but being human is something that prevents me from doing that. I doubt I'll ever get to see such a thing happen later on in life. It would be nice to be immortal in all honesty...it would.

Why would you want to? Immortality is a drag.

It could be... of course, that if that is meaning that you don't die naturally. I doubt technology would make it that far to save yourself after your head being smashed to pieces...

There are only two certainties in life. Taxes and death. so no.

Probably not in our lifetime.

That reminds me of the book The House of The Scorpion by Nancy Farmer.

You could always clone yourself, and when your clone is old enough to undergo surgical procedures, they can replace any failing organs you may have. Rinse and repeat. And if you die, your clone can replace you as a person! ^_^ Probably not the same as immortality, but your clone is a complete identical copy of yourself. ...Except with a different personality.
