Too many ways to die as a human so probably not unless you become something really freaky.

I've survived fatal illnesses more then once in my life, both times, without any professional medical treatment. The last one was 8th grade (18 years ago), and I haven't been sick since. If that qualifies me as immortal, then I can say, its nice but wasn't worth the almost dying to get it.

I haven't met any immortal people yet.

Then again...I haven't met any dead ones, either...

Considering that we would have to increase the Hayflick Limit its not happening anytime soon. There is a good video on why we age and how we could theoretically stop it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqCo-McgHLw.

It is impossible for any living organism to exist until the end of the universe. But I'm certain at some point in time advances in neuroscience will allow us digital immortality through mind uploading, similar to Ghost in the Shell.

Immortal as in "doesn't die from natural causes", sure...science will get there eventually (although it really shouldn't unless there is some horrible disease that wipes out 90% of humans). However, I doubt we will ever get to the point where it is impossible to die by any means. That just breaks the laws of nature...

Dude, you're a god for surviving all of that. You should be proud of yourself.

It would depend on your definition of immortality. If you mean immortal as in longevity but can still be killed with injury, yes. This is something that is very possible; especially with the way medical science is advancing. It might take another century or so to perfect, but well within the scope of possibility. If you mean immortal as in never die, than no, this is not possible. It defies science and reason. Even in mythology, the gods who were considered immortal could be killed.

it is possible

but.......

right now we dont have the technology to do it and even if we did have the tech it would still be in the Quintilian of dollars

but every human is immortal in a way

some consider being immortal as being remember throughout history

& some.......

consider the human soul or spirit to be immortal until eaten by some evil entity or taken over or your thrown into heck for some reason

plus age is just a number and in the end numbers are only symbols with an agreed upon meaning in society so in my eyes all beings are immortal

preferably if you i rather be immortal and invincible and overpowered

invincible means nothing can kill you NOTHING

immortal means you can be killed but age cannot affect you, you cannot die by expiring, you will never age

this is a common misconception with the two words

I really hope not, the whole concept of living forever is kind of depressing. You get to watch all your friends die, you outlive everything and get to end up as the stereo-typical jaded immortal elder living far far far away from anyone wishing it had never happened.
