none.

it's really, really lame to dislike something because of its fans.

and why you people always gotta be hatin' on something. Can't you just "not care for" or "dislike" something instead, why such strong emotion

Gundam fans are worse. Once you get into that community, holy shit , everyone is just so cocky about their gundam series.

I don't have a single anime community I dislike but rather the community as a whole I dislike sometimes. What you like or don't like is an opinion and it should stay that way and nobody should disrespect that fact. Don't go around the internet calling people names because they like Naruto or dislike Cowboy Bebop. Don't judge anime watchers for not reading the manga and the other way around. Don't spoil things for the anime watchers as manga readers.

The list goes on and on but that is pretty much why I sometimes don't like the anime community as a whole. Thought I have pretty good moments also like having conversations with people who like the same anime as you do or laughing with friends on skype while watching funny anime.

I do, and it make me feel better about myself the fact that i'm part of AoT fan. It's has passed like 6 month since the actual show ended, but i still get entertained from the fun arts.

You could have just said I sometimes dislike the anime community as a whole. I also believe instead of "single anime community" you should have put "single anime fanbase", since the anime community encompasses the whole rather than the individual. Meaning (for example), you don't dislike Death Note fans but rather what those fans are -- fans of anime. You dislike the community as a whole, rather than any fans of one set particular show.

Did that make sense?

Code Geass. Death note. I hate assholes, and I hate assholes who worship power tripping assholes :P. No I don't want to hear for the last time why these animes run so deep. So deep in fertile turd maybe.

Naruto- I get it, Jesus leave me alone.
Bleach- At this point, a pity kill for the fans/series is warranted

One Piece- For the love of God, I know the author does his research. It's well crafted. It's NOT what I like though, stop trying to convert me!

Sword Art Online- Fans: OMG ORIGINAL MMORPG ANIME SO COOL .... .Hack kicks your ass. Kicks it high into orbit, and then nukes it from orbit.

Keep in mind I don't have anything against these animes. I love Bleach arc 1, and Naruto...before they became turd-fests.

Here's ones I liked that fans pissed me off
Attack on Titan- Yes, it's your anime of the year. I read this way before. Yes, I get it, it's great. Now stop trying to talk to me about shipping.
Higurashi- When they Cry- Jesus Christ this series attracts the whackos, the gore factor has GOT to be the most turn off (other than boob jiggle) in anime for me these days.

Typically, hating on people instead of disagreeing with their opinions about or interpretations of a series is exactly what drives people away from fandoms.

I'm a fan of Utena, but the fandom I've had exposure to has done exactly that, attacking someone for opinions that (they assume) don't agree with their own. If anyone indicates they may like a character the more vocal fandom members find unacceptable for some reason, they've been quick with the ad hominem attacks and serious slander. It doesn't make me hate the series, but it is something that I find difficult to just shrug off, especially when it's these same people that basically make up the 'face' of the series to many people who might be interested in it.

I've never liked any Gainax series that I can recall, but I can communicate why...and unfortunately, it also does me no good with most fans I've met of those series. Evangelion has got to be the one that brings up the strongest aversion from me, and part of that is due to the fandom, I'm sorry to say. Whether in Japan or the US, I've never yet had a very good experience with the fandom.

I make up my own mind about series I like or dislike, but a fandom can certainly influence how much I feel like getting into something and whether I want to discuss it with anyone else. And I do agree, it's important with this topic to remember not to just bash on people and generalise according to fandom. There are many people and many kinds of people in any fandom. Even if more vocal and opinionated members of it make a bad name for everyone, it isn't right or fair to lump everyone in with them. There are always plenty of sensible, reasonable people who are fans but simply don't feel it necessary to do things that way or may have become disinclined to say or do much due to bad experiences with the more obnoxious members of the fandom.

Another point I'd like to make is that sometimes, if someone is a huge fan of something and you express that you don't care for it, they can try to cram it down your throat at every juncture. I hope no-one here does that. I had an acquaintance who used to do that with one series that shall remain nameless, despite my telling him I really didn't like it, and for years I literally couldn't even mention the series name without feeling sick. Enthusiasm for something you love is admirable, ignoring the fact that not everyone thinks so highly of it can be a real sticking point.

There will always be unpleasant people everywhere, in every interest. And there are plenty of fandoms that have a bad name simply because some people just wanted to give them a bad name for whatever reason -- they didn't like the series, don't like the characters, don't like the genre or subject matter -- not because they did anything at all deserving of it.

I think it's good to come together and sort of commisserate, in a way, with bad experiences, as long as it doesn't become abusive.

Like or dislike an anime base off of watching.

Never let other people or how other people act affect that.
