A good leader is someone who believes in themselves and inspires others to do the same. Someone who recognizes their faults, improves on their strengths, and takes responsibility for their actions.

hard to say. Can anyone honestly say which was the best president?

The Joker would be a better president.

and apparently I don't shake people's hand hard enough therefore I don't have leadership qualities, according to a certain military personnel who interviewed me... I swear this is a true story...

A leader inspires other people to follow of their own volition.

Anyone who makes a difference. No matter how small. Anytime that you make a decision that you can be proud of, you are leading an example for everyone else. Everyone has the potential to be a great leader.

I often find that the best leaders are ones that would never call themselves a leader. They're the ones that are full of passion, capable of working hard, and will gladly step to anyone's need. They are also the ones that don't toot their own horns. They stay mostly in the background and let others take the limelight. They know when to step back and let other people have a chance. It's those kinds of people that are the greatest to work with and be around.

A good leader knows who they are leading and is able to make decisions (or defer them) to put people in the best position to succeed based upon their skillsets.

Number one thing is confidence. So many kids want to lead, but don't have the balls.

Leadership is such an unimportant skill for a young girl such as myself. I do not possess anything that will make people follow, nor like me.

Even if I do get "followers", I'm pretty sure they aren't following me because I'm super confident...

Some people are better at following the leader than being a leader. Leadership isn't easy that's why some people rather follow instead.

To be honest, I'm a follower. I know that I have terrible leadership skills along with being a people pleaser.

I want to be a leader, but I don't think I can handle all the pressure of being relied on.

I have no motivation to lead anything even if I were to have good leadership skills.

I can take leadership position if I have to but I prefer not to and just be there while the leader figures the stuff out.

The Leadership feat can be taken starting at level 7 and has no other prerequisites. However, the number and level of followers you can accrue, as well as the level of your cohort, are decided based on your Leadership score, which has a base value of your level added to your Charisma modifier, and is further modified by circumstancial factors such as whether you own a base of operations or how good your reputation is.

In all seriousness, a good leader is one who knows what the people s/he leads can do, what to ask of them, and when to defer to their judgement. Quick decision-making, willingness to take responsibility, and charisma are also important, but if someone doesn't meet the first criterion, I consider them a bad leader.

As for myself, I wouldn't be a good leader at all. I don't generally pay enough attention to people to know much about them, nor do I pay enough attention to my surroundings to know what should be done. I don't like being the center of attention or being praised or criticized, and while I get along well with people, it's because I do nothing to make them think badly of me rather than doing enough to make them think well of me regardless. There's also the fact that I can't stand hierarchy, so would never 'lead' in any traditional sense to begin with. I'm usually the one who ends up with an 'advisor' or 'lieutenant' sort of position, because I can easily mediate between the leader and followers by considering them all my equals and befriending them, and because I usually have something helpful or insightful to say, but am not invested enough to act on it.
