Chihayafuru, Bakuman, Azumanga Daioh, Minami-ke, Nodame Cantabile, Kids on the Slope, Space Brothers, Non Non Biyori.

These are all better examples of Slice of Life than romantic comedies/love triangles/harems like Nisekoi.

Though anything that takes place in a contemporary world with realistic people can have a case made that they encompass the genre, the best proper Slice of Life titles are ones about sports teams, clubs, skills, or in the case of Non non Biyori, Minami-ke and Azumanga Daioh just good old fashioned day to day life.

Also, is that Mahjong?

My avatar? It's from episode 3 of Saki Zenkoku-hen (I took various chunks of the one minute match against some unimportant character that you never see again.)

So...is that a Mahjong anime?

No don't imagine this, it's a horrible comparison :P

Ah, then imagine yourself watching Eva, Bleach, School Days, Queen's Blade, Boku no Pico, Grave of the Fireflies, and Cardfight Vangard (in that order) all day, every day.

The horror O.O
You'd be psychologically crippled T_T

Hmm, don't think you guys have watched slice of life before

BECAUSE!!! Unlike Naruto and stuff, people don't argue much about slice of life. We can shut the f%^# up and watch the anime while others are too busy SCREAMING INTO EACH OTHERS EARS who's stronger, Naruto or Sasuke, or whatever they even say, I don't care. Not interested in that anymore.

While action and stuff gets you pumped up while it's playing, slice of life makes you happy in the long run.

yeah but a good heated debate is fun every now and then you know?

It allows you to see a different somewhat realistic life aside from your own in a animated matter, As you could ask why do people watch shows such as Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy and so forth which are live-action, or The Japaneses Dramas if that is a better comparison. Basically Slice of Life is just appealing as an entertainment of realism after seeing countless supernatural animated works.

Also I was like you once before, they bored me to death, but after accumulating roughly 60+ animes I began to branch out to other genres and I noticed my tastes changing and beginning to appreciate the slice of life, namely the romance genres to become a lot more appealing than I use to consider them. Hmm I think I am at 90+ after that change happened? somewhere around there. But that number is much too small for my liking, So branch into more genres.

Hmm..
Here's every anime I watched in the past year:
Chronicles of the Going Home Club,
Saki Zenkoku-hen,
Non non Biyori,
Kill me Baby,
Pani Poni Dash,
Teekyu,
Kinmoza,
Tari tari,
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure,
Yuyushiki,
Smile PreCure,
and
Chitose Get you

oh.. and Minami-ke Tadaima,
Enouragement of Climb,
Nyoron Churuya-san,
Joshiraku,
and Tamayura ~More Aggressive~

I don't think 3 episodes of Pupa or 1 episode of various other anime count as "watching"

But they cause problems. We have an anime club in my school. And next to our meeting room, there is a computer study lab area so we have to be quiet until 3 (meeting is 2~4) and it;s ALWAYS the Naruto debates causing problems to everyone.

lmao i know. big 3 fanboys are the worst. their small librarys make them argue about one show all the time

I'd say enjoyable in their simplicity, and no crazy story/relationships/etc. to keep up with. Nothing complicated, just plain feel good and hopefully funny.

Ah see now that is your taste, but this is your CURRENT taste, it will continually develop over time, I lost my liking to old animation after being spoiled I just cant go back to old animation styles, unless it is used in an post-modernist style right now to amplify the anime setting.
Also are you saying your current taste of slice of life is in heavy comedy and gag? Have you tried any romance yet?

Because not all anime has to be about action, fantasy, and unnatural things we don't see in the world. I watch simply because I find them funny and cute
