Talking about The Avengers, my favorites are Captain America and Iron Man/Tony Stark. With the Iron Man suit, Tony is such a good superhero. And Tony Stark is awesome. Captain America is the least capable superhero out of the major four (Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk), but I still really like him. He is good as a person, so to speak, and is kind of like a leader to the bunch, and I find him likable. Plus he still kicks ass, even if he can't do some very amazing things like some of the others.

I hear far more about Loki than I do about Thor. I hardly hear anything about Thor, actually.

Honestly I can't say I'm too entirely fond of most of the comic book superheroes. I dunno, I'm just not a comic book person I guess, and all the movies I've seen have turned out to be ranging from painfully mediocre to fucking terrible, so I just stopped following them thinking that they weren't for me. The movies are just incredibly campy since the source material doesn't seem take themselves NEARLY as seriously as the movies do, so watching stuff like Man of Steel was.... just a waste of my time and money.

Most people love Batman around where I am though. I know he's DC and Thor is Marvel, but Batman is the "superhero" that is most beloved as far as I know. And I'd have to agree since the Batman films were the exceptions to my previous statement.

Well OP, have you considered that maybe a good chunk of these people have never read a comic book before like myself. I for one find the mythology that created Thor far more interesting than a comic book or movie portrayal. If you ask me it seems like people are on more of a Loki kick more than anything.

***Side-note***
You might want to fix the title of your post by throwing in an "it" in between isn't and kinda.
