The only superhero I care about is Nightwing. I don't care about Thor or his lopsided arms.

I literally didn't pay crap attention to marvel's heroes prior to any of their movies. When I was young I thought spiderman was the best. Among the theatrical avengers I like Thor the best. I know I'll probably receive hate for this but I usually don't pay attention to the comics. Most people who suddenly really like Thor are probably in the same boat as me. We just don't know anything else.

Only comics I really know kinda well are for Superman and a little of Batman. Superman/Batman are my favorite superheroes by far. As a duo I love them.

My only superhero love is Batman.
Thor's grizzly mug can't change that.

Growing up, Spiderman was my favorite comic book superhero (not that I ever read the comics, I just liked the cartoon) and I'd never even heard of Thor until I watched the movie. And like several people have already mentioned, all that I really care about is Chris Hemsworth's portray of Mighty Thor in said movies (a talented guy and one sexy mofo, IMO). But, I'm not a comic book guy at all so I suppose if these movies hadn't come out I never would have heard of Thor at all.

I don't really like Thor. Loki's way better. And of course the Joker's the best of all, with Batman being the best superhero.

Being general in marvel, my favorite would be Nightcrawler or x-23.

But has for the movies it's Hulk, not Thor. The big guy never gets any respect even when the film is good.

Not really, everybody loves a sky god. Been that way forever. The Bible should up it's game if it wants to beat out Marvel. Though, I think we can all agree that Thetans probably aren't the way to go.

Thor's analogous pals are a lot more fun than Jesus or Muhummad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE

I think the Marvel movies are some of the best big budget action movies to consistently come out of Hollywood in a long time and I think they've opened the door for a lot more good (if not so much original) SciFi/Fantasy to be made.

As far as Thor specifically, while his aren't my favorites in the Marvel movieverse, they do server the purpose, for better or worse, of opening up the wider galaxy so things aren't limited to the earthbound heroes.

In the comics I was probably a bigger fan of Iron Man/Tony Stark, still loved him in the Marvel movies, Robert Downey Jr I thought did an amazing job as Iron Man/Tony Stark. BUT comparing the movies to the comics, I thought Hawkeye was portrayed so much better than he was in the comics, so I actually probably liked him more and wish he had more screen time.

But most of the Thor love I see is not the character himself, but... well mostly the fan-girls screaming over Chris Hemsworths body.

*EDIT* If we are talking about all of Marvel-verse my favorite is Deadpool.

He's not my favorite character... There goes "everybody."

I thought Loki was the guy everybody was enthralled with? I'm a Deadpool fan myself. Can't wait for him to get a film.

I personally like Chris Hemsworth overall. He's a pretty cool actor, good enough to play a lot of rough and rugged characters. Fits his style.
