I'm 40, I have no plans on giving up anime. I've watched cartoons most of my life, they were a big part of my childhood. Anime is often better than most American tv (opinion here).

Ditto for the childhood thing, and the opinion. I'm an animation fan first. Japanese anime is basically the leader. American animation is pretty crappy. Annoying Orange? It may not be animation, but seriously. It wouldn't matter which country was producing animation. Heck, if North Korea were suddenly to become the world's giant in animation, I'd watch that (Our Little Leader?)... Or France. Or any country.

You're never too old to enjoy animation in any form. Your tastes might change over the years but that doesn't mean you have to "grow out of it". Growing up doesn't always mean balance sheets and budgets. 20 years ago, I was stuffing my head full of gorefest stuff, but now I'm more than happy with slapstick comedy or whatever.

If the think the rate of technology today is bad, remember that Hanna-Barbera show called The Jetsons?

Given a choice between not acting 17 and not acting 12, I'll put my first priority on not acting 17.

the point is I don't want to treat you different because of age .
I have found that even at 60 years old you can still learn from the youth if a person just takes time to listen .
just the point was and now I find myself again explaining .
I do not want a wall bettween us because of age ????????????????

If by "3d", you mean CGI, I expect that isn't far from the truth.

I think people that hate CGI with a passion are going to be in for a rough ride in the future. It is already normal procedure in most anime for mechanical elements (i.e, buildings, vehicles, mecha), and we've seen anime that are CGI without trying for a photorealistic appearance (e.g., Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Knights of Sidonia).

The good news is that the typical CGI of even 30 years from now, much less 60, will look better than the CGI of today, just as the typical animation of the 2000's looked better than the animation of the 70's.

and your age is ?
