I just got done watching Black Butler, Mushi-shi and Samurai Champloo these past couple weeks. Now, this is where it gets really hard. I need the community's opinions! Should I start Fullmetal Alchemist or Black Lagoon first? I've heard so many great things about each of them.

Edit: I know both are different genres and are in their own league altogether. I just wanted to see what others personally would go w/ first and give my final thoughts based on the majority of either one.

It honestly depends on what you want. Those are two different genres, and you'll get different things out of both of them. Personally, I'd say FMA first, then Black Lagoon.

They're worlds apart from one another. Do you feel like watching a straight action show or an action adventure? I enjoyed them both thoroughly.

Full Metal Alchemist Original
In my opinion of course.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD

Forget about the first one, this is the real story. Also watch the dub because the dub for both of these anime is crazy awesome. Especially the black lagoon dub. The black lagoon dub is by far the best dub I have seen so far.

My vote goes for Black Lagoon but FMA isn't bad either. As mentioned they are totally different and so it really just depends on what you are looking for.

Black Lagoon definitely ranks higher than FMA for me personally though.

full metal alchemist... is so touching, emotional and beautiful.

black lagoon is more an action/kickass anime sort of thing.

go for whatever mood you're feeling at the moment...

Either. I prefered Brotherhood to Black Lagoon personally, though both were great.

It's all a matter of preference here. If I made the decision, I would go with FMA: Brotherhood (the original season is awesome in its own right, but it is nothing compared to Brotherhood that follows the manga to a T), and then Black Lagoon. But both are awesome shows, so you can't go wrong no matter which way you go.

This is what you should do.

Watch FMA original, then Black Lagoon, then FMA Bro.

I think the original FMA was equal, to be honest. It stands on its own two feet very well. Neither adaptation is better than the other. Though, I will say I personally liked the original FMA better because of -- *shock* -- the differentiating storyline later on.

And yeah, like everyone has already said it's a matter of preference.
