Yes I have. Not in a business situation or a public one, but I have.

My mother is Trinidadian (Known to have dark skin), and my father is just a regular white male. So even though I would be classified as a white Caucasian male, because of my skin color so many people seem to think I'm a Mexican. Not just Mexican. I'm looped in with all of South and Central America because of my skin. Ignorant fucks.

I also turn super black if I stay out in the sun for a week, so I get double the racists for the price of one. So I can't really give you any advice, other than to just let people be stupid and one day they'll get their just deserts. Karma's a nasty bitch man.

Yes, I'm African-American and I'm treated as if I wasn't black. They used to mock how I spoke because it was "white". They mocked how light I was. I wasn't the typical African-American so I was treated differently, but I moved and I live around awesome people now, its all in the past.

I'm Asian. One time I was chatting with an Asian girl, and she said this to me: "Why do you sound so white? It's just weird..."

I looked around and just walked away.

Dude, I saw your pictures. That is not dark skin, that is just quite tan.

it's on the dark side of tan.

Well, I guess that just depends on personal opinion. I myself am darker than caramel colored. I call it my permanent sexy brownness.

Why do you list your race as white on your profile? Shouldn't you be listing it as mixed, since you're listing it at all?

us brownies should stick together, it doesn't what shade of brown we are. i'm not caramel tbh, i'm actually brown, just light brown.

but seriously, this white guy I used to hang out with... I told him I got sunburn and my face was all red, and he was like, "I didn't know dark-skinned people could get red"...
and I was like, "ok.... stop being racist, of course darkskinned people could get red from sunburns..."

Technically I am white. The Trinidad portion is so insignificant. I just got a LOT of the Trinidad skin from my mother. I think the Trinidad's like one eighth or something, so it's better I just think myself as white.

I was thinking you mom was full Trinidadian, so that would make you half Trini and half white.

Just asked my grandparents, because I slept through Bio and Bio II. Turns out I'm a fourth. Is that enough for mixed?

EDIT: Her mom was white, dad was full-Trini, so she would be half-Trini, plus an all-white dad. Yeah, think that's right.

Sigh...I needed to update my profile anyway.

Nah, it was my fault. I thought I was misunderstanding you. Sorry 'bout that.

Racism isn't something that will EVER be solved. From going to a severely serious situation years ago to the present where we make racist jokes goes to show how some people don't care.

Example: I'm Mexican-Guatemalan and I hear boys call each other wetbacks and make border jokes and girls mock their mothers about making tortillas.

It's disturbing to me considering how making a racial slur like that back in the day can get you killed or jail time or a punch in the face.

And since you brought up the skin color issue, I'm very light-skinned and people mistake me as a "white person" numerous times. Heck, just stand me beside my father and you wouldn't believe he was my father considering how dark skinned he is. Whenever we go out to eat Mexican food, I always get weird looks and waitresses talk to me in English but to my father in Spanish, just assuming I'm not bilingual. Or when I go to the flea market to look around and people give me looks as if I don't belong in their territory. I remember one time this woman was honestly surprised I could speak Spanish so fluently and made a racial remark on my skin. Of course I blew it off since she didn't know any better, but it irritated me VERY much.
