Ok I am at a serious loss. I do not normally use all Caps on any occasion because it seems unnecessary. But this is so far beyond acceptable to me that it blows my mind completely. I have a PS3, I like to watch my movies on said PS3 because that is where I can get the highest quality and so on. I am Premium member, therefore I have paid for this service and expect it to work properly as advertised. If it does not than I expect an expedient solution to the problem or something that compensates for it.

But after contacting customer support on numerous occasions and being told that a solution was in the works(months ago!) and then being completely blown off when my membership expired(never received an answer), I have had enough. Against my better judgement I renewed my membership in the hopes that the solution was right around the corner. Now it is worse than ever. And here folks is the problem.

When I attempt to watch numerous anime series on my PS3, the machine freezes or signs me out of Crunchyroll app and then repeats or freezes.

So exactly what am I paying for when the handful of series I want to watch are unwatchable? I have had my system need to be restarted and have minor corruption that while fixable SHOULDN'T BE REQUIRED. I don't know what to do because Customer service will not provide any real help for this problem.

Quitting an re-launching the app every couple episodes should help keep it from crashing/freezing the PS3, but of course, that's just a workaround and not a solution.

So I should be forced to tie up my computer when they created an app for the PS3 that is supposed to let you watch? Eye of Pain I have tried that work around but it doesn't free up the episodes I want to watch. All that ends up happening is that I have to find some other series that I don't want to watch while the series I do want to watch goes unwatched. I paid for this service, it should be doing what it advertises or it shouldn't offer the service in the first place OR it should do something about the issue. Believe me I am not big on bitching, but this needs to be solved and thus far they have not released any updates or even given a time frame or refunded me for months of time when I couldn't watch anything I wanted because the app kept crashing.

I realize that you're trolling, but let's not be a smart ass when the OP has a serious question for the community about a broken app.

No it's actually a solution but thanks for the smartass compliment! =D he'll benefit more from a computer anyways. PS3 doesn't have the best customer support & if he's having trouble with getting help he obviously has to contact high authority and send a complaint.

Crunchyroll doesn't have the best customer support in general. It's not just on the app...

Yes, it is a solution, but telling someone to spend more money is not the point of this thread. Especially when there's a perfectly good app out there that's "supposed" to work as advertised. Instead of telling the OP to fork over hundreds of dollars, why not tell Crunchyroll to fix their shit? I agree, he will benefit more from a PC, but let's not suggest something that could very well be out of his reach and, not to mention, completely irrelevant to his complaint about the app. Just like the OP said, why should he be forced to tie up his computer when there's an app out there that's "supposed" to work? "Buy a computer. bam SOLUTION". That sounds very very smart ass to me, sorry bud.

I appreciate the back up. And Revesur I am on my PC, I CAN use my PC, my point is I shouldn't have to. And it has nothing to do with the PS3, they cannot fix an App developed by someone else, that is Crunchyroll's responsibility as the service provider and app creator. Your comment that I the consumer should do more to accommodate the people I am paying money to for a service that does not do as it should is absurd. If you bought your computer and it arrived and you discovered that while the company said it had wireless, but when it showed up it wasn't wireless compatible, should you fork over the extra money for a service you already paid for? No I am looking for help as to how to effectively address this as Customer Service for crunchyroll is blowing me off.

You can try to delete the app and re-installing it. It helped a little for me, but honestly the issue is a big memory leak problem that causes the app, at best, to kick you back to the dashboard and at worst hard locks your system. Instead of cracking down on the issue CR decided it would be better to develop apps for the PS4, Vita, and Xbox One. I'm still hoping for some fix, but honestly at this point I'm not expecting a solution anytime soon.

Reinstalled it like three times, quit and restarted, tried everything. There are long periods of time when a series is completely unavailable, which defeats the purpose of having paid money to watch it.

Just stopping in to let everyone know that once again, Crunchyroll is a company that can't make or fix a decent product. Coffin Princess Chaiko is now freezing up my PS3 once again. Best $60.00 I ever spent.

Don't worry, I'm trying to watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure right now and have come across countless freezes and random video skipping.

I understand everyone's frustration with the ps3 app but it's not entirely Crunchyroll fault. The PS3 has always been notoriously difficult to develop for. Many game developers have spoken out about this before. I do however fault crunchyroll for releasing an app that I'm sure they were fully aware was going to have many issues. For the most part though, the way I see it I pay to be able to stream on my computer. Being able to stream on my phone, ipad, xbox etc is just a bonus.

I am not one of those that enjoy watching on my computer. Sure I can hook my computer up to my tv and watch like that. But my PS3 is my primary entertainment system. I discovered Crunchyroll THROUGH my PS3 and thought, yes, this is a service I would pay for. Now a year and a half later I feel only jerked around because I refuse to watch things on my computer that I should be able to watch elsewhere. I want my computer for things that I CANNOT do on my PS3, not tie the TV up with the computer so I cannot use both my computer and my PS3 while watching a show. If this service was free, I could understand this level of quality control. But we are talking about a $60.00 subscription to something that not only freaks out and stops working ALL THE FREAKING TIME, but also has huge gaps in it's series and has a customer service that basically says, "Your call is important to us, you are the next caller." Not something someone should have to pay for.
