Scrollwheels are for, get this, scrolling. Not flipping through pages, scratching your ass or any thing else when there's a scrollbar on the page.

Calling someone an idiot isn't exactly the best way to get their attention.

Oh hey, get this, the manga viewer? Yeah, that's a flash application. D'you know why it was made as a flash application? To cut down on page load times and site traffic. Y'see, the thing about flash is that it acts as a separate entity than as part of the webpage itself. So your precious scroll wheel? It functions depending on what you last clicked on the page. If you click on something that isn't the manga reader flash app on that same page, then you can scroll with your "work-or-die" scroll wheel. But then, you can't flip through the pages with, say, the arrow keys, until you click on the manga reader again. Your mouse can only control one or the other at the same time. Nothing will be done about it, because nothing can be done about it. Capisce?

If you don't like it, just press CTRL + - a couple of times to zoom out so that you don't have to scroll.

So, there are people who read the manga using their computer? Wow, how old school.

Actually, mwhitco91, you don't have to click (at least not with Firefox and Windows) ... whenever the mouse is over the flash embed, then it works to control the embedded flash player, if the mouse is slid off off the embed, then the mouse controls the browser. So the scroll bar works like a scroll bar as soon as the mouse slides off the manga page.

But you are right, it would be silly to expect the scroll wheel to scroll the browser page when the mouse is over the flash embed, because the control is going to the embedded flash, and a flash embed obviously shouldn't be moving the page that its embedded in ... wouldn't that be a nightmare if advertisers could use an autoplay flash to move the page to where their advertisement is located? And imagine the headaches if there were two flash embeds that were both trying to move the page, one up, the other down.

So whether there is a scroll bar on the page or not can quite obviously not be allowed to have anything to do with it so long as control is directed to the embedded flash player.

Heh.

Sometimes there's no (legal) alternative, though.

If you have an iPad and the title you want is one of the adult-restricted titles, it won't show up in the official app whatever you try. So if you want to stick to legal outlets, you are restricted to CR's web reader.

There's also the possibility that not everyone has a tablet.
