Hey guys,

So I've been somewhat interested in watching Fairy Tail for a while now. I've tried watching a few episodes from the beginning, but I just couldn't get into it. Part of my problem has been the pacing and the animation.

However, now that the newly animated series is coming out, is it okay for me to start there? I really don't want to have to catch up to almost 200 episodes. If I can just start from the new series, is there anything I should know before starting it? Or where do you guys think I can catch up with all the plot info quickly?

If you find the anime boring or to have bad pacing - also yea to watch 175 episodes would take a lot of time (Im doing it now myself)

Theres not much other way to know the plot, which I feel is important. Other than the manga, but I don't read much manga myself nor do I think everyone does. So I don't know if that will work for you.

You guys are simply assuming he's even a manga reader at all. Just a little advice to you guys, there are a lot of people who watch anime only.

As for the OP, you would be missing out on a lot of you decided to start w/ Season 5. IF you are a manga reader, just go ahead w/ that for it'll save you more time. If you only watch anime though, might I suggest you get a free trial to Funimation if you aren't subscribed already? They have the first 3 seasons up, but are missing all of season 4 (I have no idea why). Once you catch up on that, you can always watch the rest on Hulu :p.

I'm doing it.

Watched about 30 episodes of Fairy Tail, and couldn't watch anymore because the episodes were so boring.

After the first episode + Amvs, I pretty much get whats going on.

I aint assuming anything, they said the anime Fairy Tail 1 was boring them lol. So I suggested something other than the anime.

Ehhhh I'll still say you are missing out if you only going in with that.

Edit: Also, I think its really weird to go into anything without fully seeing the first part of it. You will miss out on tons of important things for the characters and what they have been through.

Then again Im the kind of person that play the first games before a new game.

I'm so OCD about seeing anything in order. Im even rewatching Fairy Tail at the moment even though Ive already seen it to be ready for the new season.

Going into a show missing out on 175 episodes of it? That seems so odd to me. Missing out on all that happened and all the important things.

"Read the manga I guess?". You're telling him to read the manga based on the assumption that he's a manga reader.

He said the anime was boring him and he felt it had bad pacing. Also said that going to watch 200 episodes (there arent that many but whatever) was too time consuming.

Reading manga is quicker, and has different pacing. I dont know if he would find it boring.

I was jsut suggesting another way he could get the plot if he wanted.

I don't care if he was already a manga reader or never read a manga in his life. The suggestion still stands as another way to get the plot base on the cons of the anime he gave.

So no I wasnt assuming he was a manga reader, if he was or not the suggestion is still there for the reasons I gave.

You are the one assuming my reasons for the suggestion. lol

You'd do well to know that a lot of suggestions are based off of assumptions. This is just one of those examples. I'm not trying to dog on you for that. Just choose your words carefully next time is all I'm saying >.>.

But....my suggestion was in no way based off of assumptions.....If anything I just didn't explain all the reason in my post. Which I shouldnt have to.

'Read the manga I guess?' Is even an unsure answer if anything cause Im not sure if he reads manga. But its the only suggestion I could come up with with boring, bad pacing, and no time. All things based on things in his post he said.

I don't see how my words were bad and I wasn't assuming anything.

lol Im not trying to be a hardass, but really you were representing me wrong and assuming I was suggesting it because he had to be a manga reader in my mind. Which wasnt the case.

Ending it with an "I guess?" tells me more like you're unsure of your own answer rather than you're unsure of his interests. Your post was already vague enough as it was. Anyway, we're done here. I don't want this to get heated. I apologize for the suggestion >.>.

Im unsure of my answer, cause Im unsure if he reads manga.

But its the only suggestion to give if he says the anime is boring, has bad pacing, and he has little time.

lol and there is no reason for it to get heated. Im just surprised to get suggested to not assume by someone also assuming.

We are cool. I explained the logic of my vague answer, so it shouldn't be vague now.

I'll be clearer now.
