I wouldn't like it unless I really know the person.

How do you feel when someone refers to you as theirs, like you belonged to them? As in their girlfriend? Their boyfriend? Joyed? Angry? Hot and bothered?

I like it, makes me happy. Never happens though.

I would feel pretty happy to know that somebody even cares about me.

Or you're in love. Or it just doesn't bother you. For example, eating meat is "disturbing" to vegetarians, but if it doesn't bother you it's fine. Maybe.

But yeah, not bothered at all unless it was some random person.

I don't belong to anyone. Nobody in this world can force me to obey them and do as they wish.

The masochist in me has problems coming to terms sometimes over a significant other trying to rule my life.

On one hand I don't care for it cause, well I like having my own free will in a relationship.

On the other... well i'm a masochist.

Introductions...

-This is a girlfriend.
*The girlfriend of who?
-Sorry I was being weird and not trying to sound possessive, this is my girlfriend.

I dunno. I get the more intimate and potentially boundary breaking uses of "my whatever," but it just doesn't happen in every day life. Only people that failed miserably in history would not have understood the dangers of being owned by a person. Those fine with those labels probably lack self respect or have other issues. I'm fine with normal things - I would just be creeped out for abnormal uses of it like seen in yandere scenes of anime.

Maoyuu --- "A mutual possession contract for a indefinite period of time, that's marriage."

No, I wouldn't have a problem with it if the person saying it happened to actually own me ;P

But otherwise, I would. Not because it's creepy, but because it just wouldn't be true.

It does depend on context... But really, "she's my girlfriend" and "he's my boyfriend" seem like completely normal things to say. I mean once you're in a relationship you have a commitment to each other blah blah blah

A possessive person, however... is pretty bad. Unless people are into that too idk

sad thing is, I've had my girlfriend and another friend of mine (who just happens to be a girl) doing tug-of-war with me in the middle back in high school (I think it was my junior year), it was kinda awkward because my girlfriend was saying "he belongs to me" and the other saying "no he doesn't".... I think they had this planned out because we had a crowd watching. I know some very odd people......
