It's good, but sometimes it's frustrating how the quality drops in my phone.

CR certainly carries more anime than I have time to watch! And I'm always able to find some great-quality shows here for the time I do have.

He is killing the industry whilst CR is supporting it.

The quality, range of shows and community here is superior. So he is an idiot.

SD (360P)

480P

720P

1080P

I actually showed him a few shows from my account in order to convince him that a legal service is better then the free shit out there! But he didn't seem to care.

I'm pretty happy with CR...

The only time when there is ever an issue is when some shows didn't make it to the UK..

but ohwell.. think thats more of the license fault rather than CR's

(And yeh.. some of those other sites are worse than rubbish)

Depends, for me it's not a good match as most of the shows aren't available in my country therefore to me CR isn't good but the news and forums are enough for me.

By paying for a CR membership you are supporting the anime community and encouraging more anime to be made and licensed in your country. A few years back it actually was hard to find legal subbed anime, especially newly released, so sometimes the only thing to do was go to a sketchy site to watch it. Now, though, there are plenty of fine sites out there that offer well-subbed licensed anime for great prices, and many for free (my favorite being crunchyroll,) so there isn't really an excuse to use sketchy sites to download illegal anime. Now, watching the anime and saying you like it and are a fan, without paying or contributing/supporting in some other way (watching on a legal site instead of an illegal one is supporting enough, even without a membership,) is just rude and hurts the community - especially the people who worked so hard to make the anime for our enjoyment. Please tell your friend to help support the people that make the great shows that he loves to watch.

Thanks

A few weeks ago I told a friend about CR who was using illegal streaming sites to stream anime... And a few days ago he told what he thought about the service. Guess what he said!?! He told me that CR doesn't have any shows and that the streaming quality was bad, when I look at CR they got a lot of anime and manga that's also legal to watch/read... And best of all it's 1080P witch is superior in every way to 240P that the legal streaming site he was using...

So what do you think about that statement? Is it correct or incorrect?

I think it is totally erroneous. Idk how he could even say that unless he either never tried CR or is just a cheap piece of shit. Even then though, the SD is still pretty good on CR, so idk how he could even say that is bad.

As for the show catalogue, what shows does he even watch? If he's looking for classics, then yeah CR isn't going to have them. There's like maybe 2-3 shows max this season that CR doesn't have that I may be interested in? Big deal. I don't understand how he could shit on the catalogue here.

CR is great. The only problem might be the servers. I mean, I can't watch an episode without buffering on Thursdays, I know it is because all the people watching Naruto, but still .

It is more than likely the connection between your ISP backend and Crunchyroll's ISP not being able to handle all of that traffic at once. This is an issue with most major streaming services that is caused by the consumer level ISP's unwillingness to upgrade their infrastructure to accommodate the traffic-- they instead want the streaming sites to pay for it (which is stupid because you are already paying for the service from the ISP at an agreed upon bandwidth level, they just want to pocket the extra money rather than upgrade the infrastructure)

Using a VPN sometimes gets around these crowded channels and sorta finds a backroad to the streaming sites that has less traffic thus allowing more traffic to get through to you. Because this route is longer you will have more latency (this only matters for gaming and not video) but you will also have more available bandwidth.

Sounds to me like he is too cheap to pay a small $6.95 membership fee per month. Even if he works minimum wage anywhere in the country that is one hour's pay give or take a few minutes for tax. If he likes to use illegal sites to watch his shows let him. When he gets viruses or the like on his computer just laugh since he asked for it. Crunchyroll may not have all the shows, but using other legal sites he would never be able to watch all the shows legal sites offer. They all offer a lot of content and is very much worth the $6.95 membership here. If he is too cheap to pay that (and lives in USA) I wouldn't go anywhere with them he might try to make you pay haha.

Yeah it's good, but I also have the same problem but with my PS3 instead. I can't watch nothing on there.

Yeah. The PS3 app is pretty garbage. Always crashes... >.< So I just hook my comp up with an HDMI cable and watch on my TV that way. XD

Anyway, Crunchyroll is GREAT. They have more than enough series for me to watch that I can barely keep up with anyway. They also have very high quality subs unlike most sub groups, which are not always good. The only thing that CR didn't get that I wanted was Soul Eater NOT, and FUNi has that, and I don't mind paying monthly for a bit for that show, either. XD
