Up to episode 6 not overly impressed if I'm honest. Not that means its bad, just not really to my taste.

Well truth be told, what you're watching is part 1 "Phantom Blood" of Jojo's bizarre adventure, which many jojo fans know, is the weakest in arc in the jojo series. By part 2 it should get better (episode onwards).

Yeah, the first part felt rushed. But at the same time it made it hilarious, especially with the aggressiveness of their speech. . Really enjoying the series so far, though. It has a Hellsing awesomeness to it.

I find it interesting that a lot of new fans are actually upset ripple is "gone" and stands are the new norm. When JoJo 2012 first started I remember seeing a lot of people going "When are we going to get to friggin' stands!?"

My first contact with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was actually the fighting game with their stands, so despite being a new fan I can't wait to get to them. Actually, I've had interest in the series for quite some time now, but I never read the manga and now am starting the animation. So actually I'm not so sure I would say I'm a new fan.

Like with Guilty Gear, the music references in JoJo's has always been a thing of pleasure for me. Stardust Crusaders and Stone Ocean are the two best arcs in the manga. JoJolion hasn't been bat ether though.

I'm also disappointed, but probably for different reasons, as I never read the manga. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes of Part 1 quite a bit, but that enjoyment did not hold out through in the oversimplified juvenile-ness of each succeeding episode. I held on in the expectation that I'd like Part 2 better. But to be honest, I don't. I'd say the main reason is that I don't like Part 2 JoJo as much as a character--he's just a jerk, and the storytelling isn't really much more sophisticated. I only wish Part 2 were as short as Part 1 was!

I will say I'm not finding it entirely unwatchable, though it's hard for me to give it my full attention. I do like Lisa Lisa, but so far there just hasn't been enough of her (I'm thinking that might be changing with this episode--I'm midway through Episode 21,, hoping to conclude my Part 2 marathon today.) I also like the way it looks, even though some of the effects are a bit garish (maybe I like them because they are garish) and I like the use of a different rendition of Roundabout for the ending of some key episodes.

However, mostly I'm just hanging on, pulled by the hype lure of Stardust Crusaders.

Honestly, anything that voice actor for Joseph Joestar says is pure gold in my book. The reason he is cast for those roles is because his characters are total unsophisticated trolls that exceed in pissing people off in the most outlandish way possible while coming off as a good guy. Somehow... I mean, the Coke Bottle scene. It was just so utterly fabulous. Every time he guesses what his enemies are going to say. Brilliant. His tone is so unrefined, it belongs in a museum.

Okay, I did love the Coke Bottle scene, and found that amusing rather than annoying--and will go as far to say that just as I preferred the first two episodes of Part 1 to the rest of the episodes in Part 1, I also preferred the first couple of episodes of Part 2 to the rest of the Part 2 episodes. I like Joseph Joestar less and less as the show progresses. (I do love Gintoki though! (except for the nose-picking), but a VA alone is not going to make me love a character).
