I've been on countless of sites where there is viewer counts on videos, but it occurred to me recently that Crunchyroll doesn't have a viewers count. It would be pretty nice to see how many viewers have been watching the same anime's as I've been watching. But the question is why doesn't Crunchyroll have a viewers count yet? A viewers count isn't such a big deal, but it would be actually pretty nice to see it on a anime that i'm watching.

Yeah, I don't honestly know why you're concerned about this. It's literally pointless. You're watching a show you want to enjoy. What exactly is the point in looking at how many people viewed the video? For YouTube I can understand, but this is a whole different streaming service that doesn't necessarily have very much meaning...

My guess would be that since CR pays its licensors by count, either with a minimum guarantee, or more if the count exceeds that, then it falls under something you wouldn't want to disclose due to business financial reasons, especially when dealing with multiple sources. That could potentially cause problems in getting future license agreements.

Edit:

Although... thinking about counts made me remember that achievements, like the "Anime Convert" ice cream cone don't get awarded unless you watch via a web browser, meaning device views aren't counted (in that system). Makes a little sense, I guess since devices are served from a different CDN. But then to take that thought further, if achievements aren't counted for devices, then are my series views on them really counted towards licensing when I watch on Roku?

I'm not really expecting an official answer I guess, not in the public forum at least... Just couldn't help but wonder out loud though.
