Huh? We're speaking about Funimation dubs, correct? You mentioned what was in their library, which some of those titles are rescues. In short, those aren't Funimation titles -- in the sense that they are their dubs. Which they aren't. The only ones in your list by them are, I believe, Fullmetal Alchemist (both the original and Brotherhood) and Baka and Test (both seasons and ovas). 009-1, Trigun, Slayers, Excel Saga, Chobits, etc. weren't done by them.

I guess I should have clarified what I meant more, I'm sorry. What I'm basically saying is -- if you're talking of the gems to be found in the Funimation library specifically done by Funimation's in house dubbing studio, then make sure those gems are actually theirs.

I think I see the source of the problem now. When I wrote my first post in the thread I was speaking about FUNimation in a general sense, both as a production company and a distribution company. I wasn't claiming that the titles of interest were the result of FUNimation's production operations, but rather citing FUNimation's distribution of those titles as something to give the company credit for.

Have a second look, see if that's the sense you get this time around. If you're still convinced that I was talking about FUNimation's dub work even after I've provided this explanation, the problem is that I haven't conveyed myself clearly enough.

Nope, still getting the same outcome. This thread isn't about Funimation's distribution of titles, but their dubbing of titles -- which is why I responded as I did. At least, the main thing the OP was expressing was his hatred about Funimation dubs and their translations, pronunciations, etc. as well as a company as a whole.

Which, his hatred is mainly against American companies in general (distrustful) and the people who work in them (greedy), as well as their "supposed" target audiences -- delinquent white trash, essentially. Which, it seems, is the majority of America.

That's what I got out of his posts, anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The only thing I don't like is that their streaming service isn't available here in the UK which is a pain in the ass to be sure

I don't really mind Funimation, I just hate it when they get the rights to a show and then mess up the dubbing. Their dubs are sub-par and I feel like they could've put a bit more effort to the voice acting. Not to mention, they pretty much recycle their voice actors and some of the kids in a show sound mature. For example, take Edward Elric's voice in the dub: in the first few episodes he sounds like he's the 15 year old in the rest of the series! I also watched the English dub of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) tonight on Toonami a few hours ago. I love Bryce Papenbrook: I literally consider almost every anime character he dubs as my child (I'm a weird fangirl, I know). BUT, when I was watching the dub of Attack on Titan on Toonami, I thought the dubbing was, as I said before, sub-par to the point I wanted to cry! Eren, I love the little smartass (Eren, especially Armin) ever since I first watched the sub, had an awesome voice actor in the sub (as most subs are in Japanese). When I watched the first episode in English, I was a bit disappointed because Eren sounded like he had the voice of a 17 year old teenager at the age of, I'm assuming, possibly 11 years old. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ARMIN BECAUSE HE HAD A TEENAGER'S VOICE, TOO. So yeah, Funimation has some good shows. I only watch Funimation for a few reasons: quality, graphics, and a good story plot. When they mess up most or all of those reasons, I stop watching for a while, go watch anime from another company, then come back when they get a good show, and do it all over again. Basically lather, rinse, and repeat.
Anyway, I'm done ranting and honestly my opinion is this: Funimation, get more voice actors and get it right for just a little bit? I think a few of us anime fans would appreciate it if the voice directing was conducted a little more properly. Like I said, I like Funimation, but don't mess up the really good shows. I would be so pissed if they got the right to Kill la Kill, Usagi Drop, or maybe even some of the anime shows you see on Saturday mornings. If they mess those up I'm gonna stop watching "When I should be watching".
So, that concludes my rant. I'm going to find solace in watching anime subs. Let the rage comments begin, I don't care. I've wanted to get this out of my system for a while. Goodbye everyone!

I'm a very new user of Funimation (as in, I just signed up a few days ago), and the only serious problem I have with them is their queue system. I had to add each show separately to each device. With Crunchyroll, everything is synced seamlessly and painlessly. That said, there are some decent titles on Funimation, and I've not had any playback problems.

As for dubs, I'm not a fan, and only watch them when no sub is available, although I do rather like the Strike Witches dub.

Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have their pros and cons, but both are working to get anime out there to fans, so I'm happy for that.

It appears Funimation may have their Xbox app available before the month is out.

Per http://www.funimation.com/xboxvideo?utm_medium=ANNskin5.4.2014&utm_campaign=Xbox_FairyTail_MEDIA&utm_source=Xbox_FairyTail_MEDIA:

The FUNIMATION Xbox App is coming in May!

We have passed the tests and are awaiting Microsoft® approval to release the app. Sign up for updates and alerts on the FUNIMATION Xbox® App.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to CR's Xbox app. It is also interesting they refer to it as the "Xbox app" and not just the "Xbox 360 app". I wonder what the odds are of them releasing it on both the 360 and One.

The only problem I had with Funimation was that soul killing buffer circle. That and their "we can't recreate it at our end so we just can't figure it out, what are we supposed to do!?"

It's miraculously been fixed so I don't have a problem with the site anymore, anyways.

They've stated an app for it is planned, but no timeframe has been announced for that one yet. They've also mentioned a Chromecast app is on the slate.

Do you know if it's planned for multiple PS devices: PS3, PS4, PS Vita?

well what bothered me about the English Dub of Attack on Titan is the following:
1. the opening song is epic and they barely play much of it, same with closing song
2. what they said in English did not match the subtitles
3. looked like they removed a couple of the cinematics
4. and they did all this to make it fit the time slot provided, well they can not help that, but it is still irritating

but what bothered me most is the butchering of the opening song

I believe it was, but I'll need to check back to see if I can confirm that. At the moment, I'm on my rather slow 3G "emergency" connection, so I'll try to remember to check tomorrow after Comcast hopefully has my cable internet working again.

UPDATE: I checked and in this forum thread, Sophie, one of the Admins, stated:

A PS4 app is on the way (it will actually be compatible with PS3 and Vita as well).

Pretty soon they'll get the full opening, someone at Funi screwed up the tapes and gave toonami the cut OP. I imagine Dandy's opening will get axed in the process though. And I love that theme

I've seen no reliable information indicating that a second series is in the works.

If there were a second series, it would have to be motivated by something other than DVD/BD sales. Combined sales for volume 6 were less than 1900:

Apparently the first volume (often the best seller for a series) managed only a bit above 2100.
