Are you fair? Do you want other people to be fair? Why should they?

Honesty, I'm not fair. I won't give anybody a disadvantage to deal with because of certain aspects, but I'll give advantages to people because of certain aspects. As in, if I'm a bouncer I won't deny anyone entrance because of the way they look, but someone who looks attractive might get in faster.

Also? Makoto! I'm calling you out! I did all these threads the same way, if you're going to close one for it, close them all for it! Even the ones that have people on them! Be fair, man. Be fair. Or let me bring it back. Your choice. Now I know what you're thinking. Did he shoot five bullets....or six?

So, how do you feel?

Phersu, I just want to say that as I've gotten to use the Site that much more and more, I simply can't help but to be in awe of Your many, many, many prolific Threads that You have began. That shows Me that You have a mind that is just brimming with intellectual unwritten information and terminology. I just Personally wanted to give You a shout out and say, "Cheers, My Friend!" Writing is THEpassion that comes natural to Myself also, but I simply don't have the ability to Write out EXACTLY what it is that I am wanting to say, 90% of the time. YOUon the other hand, have no problem whatsoever in doing so. I HAVE the knowledge, but not that "release"...That flow in Your sentences and then, in Your further replies. Topping it off, according to Your Profile, You're only 19 Years Young! Keep it up, Man...Some of Your Threads have made Me think about certain things in which I hadn't fully, or hadn't in quite a long time and for that, I am in Your debt. Arigatou gozaimus! Anata wa ii shigoto wo shimashita ne!

These Days when it comes to answering questions, I think more and more about the different hundreds of thousands even sometimes millions of possible variables that exist within each raised question and all of the many different details; the People, the Places, the OTHER goods of importance...SO MANY...important things that are affected potentially, simply depending on just HOW great "as deemed to Humanity" these different variables are. So My take on it, is that there "fair" is simply another Word. I don't believe it exists. Humanity, above ALL others is at fault for causing...if there ever WAS a sort of thing known to Us as "fair", the absolute removal of the Word "fair" having ANY case for use among Terra Firma any longer. Humanity is NOT fair. Not saying that derogatorily, simply stating that We were not BORN to be fair. This can be PROVEN, as there WAS a time when there many, both "Homo Sapiens" and "Homo Erectus", even remnants of "Homo Neanderthalis" LIVING AMONGST one another. Have You ever just sat back and wondered at how RIDICULOUSLY difficult it must have been to live back then? Food was scarce. The difference between the Brain of the "Homo Sapiens" and the other 3 of the other types from Our Ancestors class "Hominidae" was like comparing the first 8 inch 100kb Floppy disk to come out of IBM, to the just recently released "Cray XC30" Supercomputer system; Codename: Edison.
"So indeed, when push came to shove, what happened? There are many, many Skeletons of the other "Hominidae" class that have been found, and clearly show cuts, and even bite marks left in them. We, the "Homo Sapiens" put an end to the remaining race of "Hominidae", eating whatever they could to survive. And this was before all the Wizard of Oz...I mean, OH, the Bible. Man's good ole' storybook. So that shows, that even though the "Homo Sapien" have finally gained Knowledge...That which will eventually change this Planet in literally every possibly way that it CAN be changed; definitely not all for the bettter either. Homo Sapien is still but an Animal deep down inside. Emotions come from Your environment.

So what I have tried, as I always do in many bizarre and lengthy...off topic ways, is remind Us all to not live with any regrets. Because as a part of this 'species', even Today We must be on Our Guard as best We can. THIS WORLD IS PLENTY FAIR! It's individual Human Beings scattered across this World, up to their teeth in Gold and Jewels with hand on Nuclear Launch Keys at all times. Indeed, the World is INNOCENT...and if You look at it like I kinda do, It's fighting WITH Us...against those Homo Sapiens CITIZENS "quote" PUT IN OFFICE...Who have LEARNED IT ALL AT IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS! YET THEY ARE NO MORE MATURE THAN OUR
"SUPER GREAT GRANDFATHER" MUNCHING ON HIS COMRADES BODY. I can honestly, and terrible say...that We as a PEOPLE, and as a SPECIES HAVE LEARNED NOTHING. One Day...maybe I'll look out My window, and see everyone simply loving one another; Dancing in the Streets. Until that Day...rely ONLY upon the "Fair" found naturally amongst the WORLD. Much Love, Crunchyrollers.

Oh! Ohh! I'm being called out, in public even. Dueling keyboards at dawn, how exciting!

I try to be fair in all I do.. but that doesn't mean I treat every situation in the exact same way.

For example, if a user is creating a lot of threads that don't start the discussion in any meaningful way, I might let that slide for a while, even if they're being reported as pointless, hoping the user would change over time, start them off with a bit more text - like this one did! Technically I'm not applying the rules to the letter by leaving some of those open, because I also try to look at the responses to the threads, see if people are enjoying it or not. But if such a situation went on long enough, threads would start to be closed more unless things changed. But I apply that thinking to everyone equally, not just specific users.

Other situations are more extreme, and dealt with quicker. Like spambots - I ban those for a thousand years as soon as I see them. Ugh, hate spambots. But I hate them all equally, and destroy them all with the same fairness.

In the end, we're all human, and personally I like it that way when it comes to applying the rules. At what point is a user trolling another? Is that image intended to be naughty, or artful? Is that an attack at a user, or someone venting about a show? All sorts of balances to think about - along with the desire to keep the site open and fun.

Otherwise we'd just ask crunchybot to take over all modding duties, and that'd be boring for everyone, I think.

Life isn't fair, so why should I be fair?

Wouldn't it be fun to have software moderating the forum? I mean it would put a ban hammer on almost everything, just look at YouTube and their software that checks for copyright infringements... It banns people who got a small logo from a company in the background of their videos!

Wouldn't it be fun to have something like that on CR?

I try my best to be fair, honest and just.

This is very important to me, and one of the things that all people should strive to be.
Posted 4/16/14
I attempt to be fair if the other person is fair with me. If they try to be conniving, then I'll be as cheap as I want to.

I know that saying, "Don't stoop to their level" or something along those lines, but hardly any one follows that.

Fair? Never. Pure foolishness.

As my dad always says, "Never fight a fair fight, it's not fair if it is"

As human beings we must contest with the fact that we are in large part selfish. Seldom will you find one that acts for anything but his own well-being--and in the event that you do find one, you will discover that he too acts for his own interest. If there is a way to get what you want in this world, then you better do it. Everything in this world is fair game; there are no rules save the ones you are not willing to break. As such I do not believe in playing the world fairly. That simply wouldn't be in my interest.

I have a different attitude for other worlds. GayAsianBoy points one out for me:

I have a strong liking for board games, Particularly strategy board games such as Go, and Chess. They are one of the few places on earth where any two people may arrive and be measured only by their skill. I have a similar liking for games of chance. Poker, and Mahjong for example are games that have some level of skill involved. but once that point is reached, the only thing left is chance, and chance favors no one.

Being fair would make life uninteresting. I prefer a common sense of justice over my own individual interpretations of what I might dub as being fair.

To be fair, you have to set rules and regulations to follow.
However, there's always a loop hole.
And that makes me think of Animal Farm.
Poor horsey. He died in vain.
