Does anyone know where I can find GIFS for my avatar? I know Tumblr is a place, but almost every GIF I come across there, it has a problem when it's uploaded here to CR for my profile picture. (i.e static, doesn't fit, etc.)

Make your own then.

Also, you make make a picture fit, if you put in in a quote. Quotes resize a picture.

Right click on the pic and press download picture... And on CR upload the pic!

Also, if the picture is too small/big then you can use BB Code to resize it!

Umm, as far as I know, there isn't any option to download the image...just to save it..or if that's the same thing, it doesn't work. BB code? I'm not too familiar with what you're saying.

What do you mean quote? And I don't have the tools to make my own, otherwise I would.

This:
For example:

Just use that button and images are resized.

Also, you can download Free Video To Gif Converter. And VideoClone to capture video straight from Crunchy. I think it's fine as long as you are not profiting from it.

if you press "Save as" then your computer will download the picture, also check this link out if you want more info on BB code. http://www.bbcode.org/examples/

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I've always been clicking save as. But they usually just turn out to be static when I upload them to CR. Oh well. Thanks for the link though.

+ if you want to edit GIFs, like removing/adding Frames, resize, coloroptimization, crop and such-> Gimp is free and easy to use. http://www.gimp.org/
(even prefer it over Photoshop for quick gif edits)

Well i don't know the cause of static to begin with.
But try loading it in Gimp, if there are a lot of normal looking layers on the right side, it will most likely fix it.
(export>.gif> check 'as animation' ; frame disposal 'one frame per layer')

The static is generated by the CR upload process. It has certain issues with animated gifs, in particular transparency and dithering. They will look fine on other sites, but if you save and upload to CR they get botched. You actually have to edit the image before uploading to CR.

Is there any way to use gimp to fix that? I just need to know how to get rid of the static...

^ As the above said, to get the static out, you have to edit out the transparency in Photoshop. I'm not sure how to do it with Gimp.

Alternatively, you could just upload your gifs to a sit like TinyPic and copy the url onto CR instead of directly uploading the image. That's what I usually do. Just right click the image, copy, and paste the link between (url) and (/url), but use brackets instead of parentheses. Simple.
