What anime started it all for you?
Posted 4/16/14
What I mean by this is, what show made you really become interested in anime?

For me it was Death Note. I didn't even know what anime was a little over a year go (shame on me, right? haha). I just happened to stumble across Death Note on Hulu one day and was instantly hooked. From there I began to look more into anime, seriously became interested it, and here I am today....an anime loving fool haha.

If I created this in the wrong area or it already has been a topic of discussion, I apologize in advance!

This AMV: √Bestamvsofalltime ▪ The Last Chapter.

It might not look like much by today's standards, but it left me wondering who the characters were and what their story was, so I tracked down the series. And that lead to others, and almost 10 years later here I am.

That's very different. Not all people who watch anime are, or would classify themselves, as an otaku. I for one take otaku as a negative term.

That said the very first anime that got me started was Elfen Lied, I loved it and it is one of my many favorites years later. After that it was Shikabane Hime and everything snowballed from there.

One night when I was 15, I saw "Spirited Away" on TV by accident. I remember sitting there so glued to the TV, and just feeling really magical.

now 10 years later, I have never looked back

For me it was Trigun. I was 25 then and had never watched an anime. It was epic.

......I Honestly think it was Beyblade....I feel disappointed in myself, but I think it had to be beyblade...then some how I landed onto Samurai Champloo with a combination of Naruto (on Toonami btw) I think also Cowboy Bebop, After that it was History...and My tastes just spiraled into every dam possible direction

OMG I still can't believe BeyBlade started all of this.

It's somewhat hard to answer a question like this when I've been surrounded by anime my entire life, but I'd say not long into High school we watched Totoro in japanese class, not long after that I checked out the show Code Geass on a whim & I'd say that started it all for me as far as having it as a part of my life goes.

.hack//sign and Case Closed were the first two animes I was really into. In elementary school I'd stay up really late to watch Case Closed all the time. Then, one day my dad brought home .hack//sign and we watched it. Later on my brother told me to watch Naruto and Bleach, and then I continued watching stuff from there.
