This thread is to explain what the features are and how to use them.

This post in particular will be an index of the other posts. I will update it when I am done.

Autoplay Fullscreen

Explanation

Currently, when you have autoplay enabled and try to watch in fullscreen, upon going to the next episode it takes you out of fullscreen and you have to click the button again. This can be annoying if you aren't at your keyboard while watching the episodes. The intent of this feature is to get as close to remaining in fullscreen as possible. Due to how Flash works, I can't make it enter fullscreen mode by itself when the next episode loads. Instead, I have the page redirect to a page of just the video and then place the whole browser in fullscreen. The result is that the video takes up the whole screen except for the control bar on the bottom. Unlike the control bar while in fullscreen, this one doesn't fade away, but it also doesn't cover any of the video.

How to use it

Simply clicking the 'Toggle Fullscreen' option in the extension popup will turn it on and off. You can see its current status by looking at the icon. If the icon is the full CR logo, then it is on, if it just the outer part, it is off. If you have it enabled and wish to exit fullscreen, then hit F11 and then toggle the setting again and it will return you to the normal show page.

Future Plans

I would like to eliminate the pause between the page loading and the redirect, but it is pretty low on the list of things to do.

Feature

Notifications and PMs

Explanation

I wanted a way to be notified about notifications and pms (from now on collectively called site notifications) without refreshing the page frequently, so I built it into the extension. Within 60 seconds of receiving a site notification, the extension will update a number in the corner corresponding to the number of site notifications.

PMs are separated by read and unread and are then listed in date order showing the sender and part of the subject. Clicking on a message will open it in a small form in the extension. You can use this form to read and reply to the message.

Notifications are separated by type and will have different actions depending on the type. Quoted forum posts will list who quoted you and clicking on it will take you to the post. Buddy and Group requests will list who send them, give you an option to view that user/group, and allow you to accept or reject the request. Some of the other notifications may only list the type but not open up to anything, I will try to fix that at some point.

How to use it

Make sure you are logged into crunchyroll.com, the extension currently doesn't work with CR's other TLDs, that is also on the to-do list.

Future Plans

I plan on adding some sort of support for all of the notification types. I might also remove the PM reply form and just have it link to the inbox page, since I find it hard to use, being so small.

Thread/Forum Subscription

Explanation

There currently isn't a way to follow or subscribe to threads, so I added one of my own. The extension adds a button at the top of every thread next to the new thread/poll buttons that allows you to 'watch' or subscribe to a thread. Once subscribed several things happen. First, it will check the thread every minute for new posts or post edits. If there are any and you have the thread open in your current tab, it will just add the new post to the bottom of the page without giving a notification. If you have the tab open but are viewing a different tab, or just don't have the thread open, it will put a notification just like it does for PMs. When you get a thread notification, it will be listed under the 'Threads' section at the bottom. It will show the first part of the title of the thread (a lot of thread titles are really long so I decided to just truncate it). Clicking on it will open the thread to the most recent post or edit. The checkbox (checked by default) toggles the new posts being added into the page, so if you want to turn that off, uncheck the box for that thread.

Forum subscription works pretty much the same way. You can elect to follow a specific forum category and any new or updated threads will be added to the subscription list. If you choose to watch a large forum like General, be aware that this can lead to a very large subscription list and will cause some problems if it gets too big. There is a setting in the options page that allows you to only receive notifications for new threads if you subscribe to site news. Enabling this feature can take up to a minute but is a one time delay. After you enable it, you can subscribe to Site News and you won't get notifications for anything except new threads.

You can remove both threads and forums from the subscription lists the same way you add them or from the options page.

How to use it

Simply go to a thread you want to subscribe to and click the 'Watch" button in the upper right. You will now get a notification every time someone posts in that thread. Click the 'Unwatch" button in the same place to unsubscribe from the thread. You can also remove threads from the list via the options page. You can access the options page by right clicking on the extension icon.

Future Plans

I plan on reworking the whole add new posts to the page thing, but I haven't decided on anything final for it yet. I also plan on fixing the accuracy issues with forum following. I might rename the buttons from 'Watch/Unwatch' to 'Follow/Unfollow'.

Marking shows as watched or unwatched

Explanation

As CR gets new anime each season, the list is getting longer and longer. In order to filter out shows I have already seen or don't want to watch, I added a way to hide those shows in the list. Shows can be hidden/unhidden from both the show list and each individual show page. There is a small checkmark on the upper left of each show in the show list. Clicking this will make it turn orange and hide the show from the list. If you click 'Show Watched' in the upper bar it will reappear with an orange checkmark. Clicking this checkmark again will turn it back to normal and it will no longer be hidden by default. This hide/show behavior is replicated on each show page in the form of a button below the queue button. Clicking it will have the same effects as clicking on the checkmark on the show list. In addition to this, there are cases where you want to mark a show as watched on CR not just in my extension. For these cases, I added an optional feature (enabled through the options page) that will change the behavior of the buttons on the individual show pages. With the option enabled, the buttons will now either set all of the episodes of a show to full orange bars, or to blank bars. It will be a little bit slower since it involves a lot of network requests, but once it is finished, it will change the button properly.

How to use it

Click the check marks and show page button to toggle the show in the show list. With the optional feature enabled, click the show page buttons toggle a show in your watch history.

Future Plans

I plan on maybe finding something better to use than the check mark image. Also, I want to fix the behavior where the check marks aren't added when a new page of shows is added, but when the page is scrolled.
