I'm a cheapskate bastard. And I know I'm missing some good games that can only be downloaded online.
I also check reviews/clips first before actually buying games.

I'm also a person that buying one console is enough. Instead of linking consoles I prefer to play on split screens.

I have the tendency to sabotage my own team. That's also the reason I play offline. Please, don't give me the rocket launcher. hahaha

Sometimes, I'm like:

You gotta do that, especially in Borderlands. You don't want your partner get all the cool and high-powered guns for himself. Fuck that. hahahaha

I lived in a place that couldn't get High-Speed internet for most of my life, so my days were filled with either single player or coop with my brother. Now that I can play online, I don't find it enormously more entertaining than playing alone, with the exception of having someone to play with if you can't split screen.

Although I may download a game every now and then, be it a digital version of a retail title or a Virtual Console game for a Nintendo platform, I mostly play off-line. The only exceptions to that are GoldenEye 007 and Mario Kart Wii for the Nintendo Wii (which both end on May 20), Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS, and the replacements for GoldenEye and Mario Kart Wii, 007 Legends and the upcoming Mario Kart 8, both for the Nintendo Wii U. Everything else I'm more than fine to play either by myself or with other people in the same room.

I don't play online ((save for a couple specific games) often and which one I prefer depends on my mood.

I download digital only releases and DLC but rarely play online. Offline splitscreen is okay.

I enjoy offline when I dont want to be social with the people I know online, or when the clan mates want to spam the crap out of me for invites. It's very peaceful to just sit back and enjoy the game. Also when I have friends over, it's all local game time.

I mostly enjoy offline more because you're usually more free to muck about and do as you please. There's no one to tell you don't do this, don't do that, you're cheating, or a generally competitive atmosphere. Though I will say I've been playing a lot of Elder Scrolls Online recently. I've never really been big on MMO's or online, but it appeals to me because you can do most of the quests on your own, and it feels, to me, very much like an Elder Scrolls game.

All the time. With the exception of MMO's and fighting games I don't enjoy multiplayer. Gaming has always been a solitary experience for me and I like it that way.

The only games I play online are first person shooters. Most single player titles that were meant to be single player just get a tacked on multiplayer w/ little to no innovation whatsoever. Same goes for FPS's in a way. A lot of multiplayer games are just tacked on and aren't given one single effort.

I play offline more and more for one reason I'll try to describe below.

Situations like in the spoilers is why I like offline gaming despite years of playing mmorpgs and various other genres that included social interaction. I just see other players as bots that might call you female lady parts or worse.

I play FIFA online and that is about it. I hate trash talking teens who have no other agenda than to offend. For the most part i like to take my time on games and enjoy everything so for the most part i will play offline.

I seldom play online due to my sluggish internet connection, which lag my controls and render me vulnerable for my opponents' attacks. This case is no exception on UMVC3 online.

I also cannot stand the hystery many teen gamers exude when playing online for the reasons 14383421 has mentioned on his spoilers.
