Yes, I totally agree. Needed much more. I liked this series.

I've seen two episodes of this before and it's pretty much a recomplication so far from the movies. I'll keep an eye on the lookout for additional scenes though.

Btw I read from somewhere but is it true that the author of the manga decided to drop his work? (as in AXED)

How close does the series follow the manga? maybe I should read them to finish the story.

pretty closely up until the 5th movie, then it starts to diverge quite a bit, but still hits the major plot points.

I'm really liking the series, though I think that's mainly due to the fact that I haven't watched any of the movies. I hope it says faithful to the manga, that way I can get a second season.

Thats what I read also about the mangaka but that would give the anime production a chance to make their own.

To me this anime didnt have a proper ending so hopefully they can create one .

The one good though is hearing the lead seiyuu Hoshi Souichiro in the main character again.
This seiyuu has its run of main characters couple years ago and now he is rarely in any new anime as a lead. Among the newer anime he just did was in Arata the Legend, the Pilot's LOve Song, Kuroku no Basket as Kasamatsu , the point guard in Kaijou HS, the player that hang with Kise, which would be his more popular role .

Its funny you dont hear any of the newer seiyuu in this series since this was made in 2010 but its a good thing that Nakamura san and Kamiya san are the other lead characters' seiyuu.

It is overall a pretty good land type mecha anime.

Episode 4 was fairly brutal.

It's hard to judge character ages in this series.

it sorta is... I almost have to keep reminding myself that the main characters are in their mid-late 20's. with the exception of Cleo, who's 12, and was made to artificially age for reasons I don't remember if they were explained.

Did the "15 year old" make you raise a eyebrow as well? I honestly thought she would be older than Zess, and he is 25, or at least his age....The 12 year old is even more out there, I am not even sure how their schooling system works if the 12 year old and the 15 were in the same class....then there is a MC's brother who seems to be the only one that looks his age in terms of being a child.

The only thing I don't I was pleased with was Dan's death....but I guess it was suppose to be a form of added motivation for the Mc....

That was some despair there....

The grim reality of battle shown in the latest episode triggers (no pun intended) my thought of "SHIT JUST GOT REAL".
