You can also watch the OVAs/movies/things here if you want: http://www.crunchyroll.com/broken-blade They're just recutting them for TV, there might be some extra animation for continuity but the rest should be the same. |

Episode 5 This has got to be my favorite mech show this season (and it wasn't even made this season) Captain Earth and Nobunaga the Fool are too goofy Daimidaler and Dai Shogun are just ecchi shows M3 just isn't that great (or at least the first 2 episodes aren't). more about angst and ghost-realms and some such... But this show, it's freakin great. Lots of action, lots of fights, serious developments that more or less make actual sense. What's so hard about this that keeps the rest of the shows from doing this? |

I might have to read the manga again to see what additional scenes were added. My memories are a bit vague on Broken Blades right now. It's been awhile since I've seen the movies.

I wonder if this is just me or maybe because of where i live. But i only seem to get french, german or spanish subs with it. No english subs anywhere. I loved the movies. Got the blu-rays of it as well. Really curious how they did this 12 epi tv version. But anyone any idea what's up with the subs?

This was one of a few series this season that CR wasn't able to obtain English language rights for. These series were also marked by not being available in "English speaking countries" (except for Canada, where French is used in Quebec). AFAIK, the only one of the "ex-US series" (as I and some refer to them) that apparently has English subtitles available was Ping Pong. |

I usually watch it on my tv from the playstation so i don't get most of the notices about the shows. Thanks man. Been looking like crazy for subtitle options haha. I'll stick to the blu-ray movies then till this gets released on disk. Thnx AncientOne :). |

I love this anime, all the characters are interesting, other than Hodr or whatever the kings name is. He's too... easily accepting, even volunteering to surrender despite knowing the costs of it for other people in his family.
The final fight in the OVA though wasn't that interesting, but in the manga from what I remember it was epic. I hope in this redo it's done with the same way as that. |

Can someone please enlighten me on whether this is the complete re-release of the 6-part anime films or is it a reboot...?!

It definitely isn't a reboot, as the vast majority of it is footage from the 6 films. There to be some new footage (and of course the OP and ED are new), but it isn't likely to be much, as run time of the 6 films is very close to that of 12 episodes, perhaps even a bit more. |

Alright finally finished the series...honestly the ending is beyond unsatisfying for me personally but it JUST MAKES so much dam SENSE as an end...war is literally just that, it happens and at the end of it, was it worth it? that is a gray area beacuse it is both a yes and a no. The survivors are just left with a feeling of "what", even Rygart had the best conclusion I could see for a mecha war series, he just has a break down laugh seeing his brother who he had worried about being dead in the war whom earlier he had even forgotten was a thing while he slightly lounge in the capital and then entered a war which wasn't his to fight just seemed so fucked up and laughable (the mind break laugh). I honestly don't know what to score this, beacuse I love the story but at the same time I just feel so unsatisfied. Well for being a mecha series in which I "GET" the finale I give it a 8/10, while unsatisfied I give it a 7/10....so final score of 7.5/10.
So since this was a remake....and it has been a long time since the original was made, zero chance of continuation right?....what about the source material...is there more? or was that the end in the source material as well? |

IIRC the manga does some things a bit differently(just a bit though) but it still goes on after this. There are quite a few chapters. I actually stopped reading in hopes that there would be a continuation as an anime but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. |
