I can't watch any anime because it's stuck at "Advertisement: 0" with a grey screen.

Using Google Chrome, no Adblock, on a PC. Everything seems to be updated.

Hmmm...Any particular show/episode?

I didn't log in (so I could get the Ads) and the three random episodes I tested worked fine using Chrome (latest build). One long Ad at the beginning (that I was able to skip) and then about 3-4 at every Ad break in the video.

Which episode is giving you issues? Do you have any other plug-ins installed on Chrome?

Hmm I just tested Magi and Strike on Blood, 3 different EPs each.

I have: DoNotTrackMe, Google Dictionary, HTTPS Everywhere, MightyText and Photo Zoom.

Hmm, it might be that DoNotTrackMe plug-in. Try temporary disabling that particular extension by un-checking "Enabled" in your Chrome Extensions area. And then try playing an episode that gave you problems.

If that is it, check to see if DoNotTrackMe has any options where you can "white list" Crunchyroll. That would turn off that plug-in while you're here, but not for the rest of the Internet.

Pretty sure it's HTTPS everywhere.... I logged out, installed that and get the same behavior you do. I took it out and the video played...
