One Piece is cool, BUT I think it's pacing is a little tedious. On the other hand it could never have lasted so long without that pacing.

15 minute episode :
3 minutes story
12 minutes of characters going ( ゜Д゜)and Shounen fighting.

Anime makes me flip tables all-day everyday.

I cannot say any one anime has influenced my life though.

My golden time with Gintama convinced me that the world only god knows is still beautiful. And I still haven't lost my way in the town where I live even though I don't have many friends which I write about in my diary from the future. Also, spiral energy.

If I had to say any anime influenced my life it would have to be Love Hina. I saw it first when I was 14 years old and filled with all those unstable adolescent hormones. It made me want to learn Japanese and move to Japan in hopes of finding a hot Japanese girlfriend. As time went on I did learn Japanese, but I became much more cynical and critical, and I would actually say that I see MANY problems with Love Hina right now, and really I have no desire to take up permanent residence in Japan, I actually kind of feel intimidated by the structure of their social system. I do not regret learning Japanese though, it is a really fun language and puts English into perspective for me, it's a lot easier to learn the concepts of grammar through Japanese than it is through English. I kind of want to pick up Chinese as that is a totally different language from both Japanese and English in structure.

As far as Love Hina goes, it has some great music and atmosphere, especially if you are an adolescent, but I would definitely recommend reading the manga over watching the anime, as with ANY of Akamatsu's works, the anime versions are usually just mutilations.

DBZ would be more like 3 minute story. 12 episodes of fighting and 5 of that would just be powering up.

Have you seen how long the pauses tend to be in One Piece when something bad happens? I swear they spend a minute just having all characters react shocked toward it. They spend like 2 episodes sometimes just having characters run down a hall way. Where Naruto tries to extend it's lifespan with flashbacks, One Piece stalls with dramatic reactions.

I don't think any one anime has ever influenced my life, but I have learned things from anime overall that have been interesting, like the only words in Japanese I have been able to learn, are mostly insults they the easiest words to understand, seeing as they talk so fast But I will say anime has made me think deeper sometimes.
