One Piece is cool, BUT I think it's pacing is a little tedious. On the other hand it could never have lasted so long without that pacing.

15 minute episode :
3 minutes story
12 minutes of characters going ( ゜Д゜)and Shounen fighting.

Are you sure that's not Dragonball Z?

Have you seen how long the pauses tend to be in One Piece when something bad happens? I swear they spend a minute just having all characters react shocked toward it. They spend like 2 episodes sometimes just having characters run down a hall way. Where Naruto tries to extend it's lifespan with flashbacks, One Piece stalls with dramatic reactions.

The animes pacing is pretty bad, but thats mostly due to the anime having a strict one chapter/one episode policy (each episode only adapts about 1 chapter)
So they have to drag out the episodes a lot which is why they have almost 3min long openings and recaps in the beginning(seriously the actual episode doesn't start till about 7mins in)
Which is why I usually wait a month or 2 before watching One Piece so the episodes can build up and I can just marathon through them

so yeah if you want better pacing you might want to read the manga instead

I figured that was the case. Well I appreciate the fact that they at least don't waste my time with fillers and flashbacks like Naruto does, even if it does mean only about 15 minute episodes.
