So I just found out that there's going to be a new Alien game slated to be released later this year. From what I've seen of it so far, it seems that they may have something here worth keeping an eye on.

Alien: Isolation

The team creating the game is very motivated to bringing back the look and feel of the original 1979 Alien movie into a game. They took many elements from the movie, including the clean, white feel of the spaceship living quarters, the structural designs, the clunky retro-future tech, and even the Alien model is more in form with the original H. R. Giger design. In that respect, the game will probably be about survival rather than all-out action of the previous installments.

Although Aliens: Colonial Marines left a bad taste in my mouth, this one seems to be in the opposite side of the spectrum and might be a faithful take to Ridley Scott's stalker Alien rather than the more action-oriented Aliens by James Cameron.

Their official site (with screenshots and videos): http://alienisolation.com/en_us/
Planned Release Date: October 7th, 2014
Platforms: 360, XBO, PS3. PS4, PC

So in light of all of this, what does everyone else think of this? Oh, hell yes? Oh god, please not another let down?

I, for one, am pretty interested with their different approach to this series in video games and will be following it closely, but I'm still a bit wary from the previous games.

I am soooooo excited for Alien Isolation. I was very fortunate to watch/read reviews and user feedback of Colonial marines, so I dodged a bullet there :p.
