Nah.
I'll tell ya why :
Main character would die,
Some moron would be standing there watching just praising the sun like a tard,
And then some darkmoon would show up and kill the sun preacher.

The end.
Honestly, as RX said, SO many games would be better in anime form.

Plot Twist: What if the game was from the point of view of one of the sun worshippers.
But in all seriousness no don't have a Dark Souls anime. The main character doesn't even talk. Also I feel as if Dark Souls is one of those things that is probably only enjoyable in game form.

Dark Souls would be better off as a movie than an anime.

Seconding this.

Besides, most game-to-anime adaptations are shite, with all due respect.

What you SHOULD ask, is WHEN will Dark Souls become and Anime, and how should they go about it?

This was just a really random thought that came into my head but I'm curious all the same about what others think.
If a director came up with the grand idea of trying to adapt this game, what do you think could happen?
If they had a decent enough writer and paced it really well, is this game's abstract and vague story still workable?
And if it was able to be done, should it?

Let me know what you think.

To properly speak the speaking about Dark Souls....it can be done. It's not even too difficult...or easy a task! From Software might not approve so it might not ever happen...but the license and world itself is highly plausible and something I'd desperately crave.

Simply telling a story of one or two random Chosen Undead, going on a journey through the world facing great bosses and slowly exploring the world....it's easy.

Cassern Sins, Digimon, Mushishi, Samurai Jack. This is how I'd like my Dark Souls Anime to turn out.

You can tell stories and showcase bosses. Having a solo player or a team of them, exploring the wide world of Dark Souls. They don't have to explain anything, they could explain everything. It's a fantasy world with a hit game series...it will sell.

But. That's how I want it. I want them to focus on atmosphere.

After playing Dark Souls 2 for the past while, I let a friend of mine play the intro level to Demons Souls last night. The most striking difference is the atmosphere, something Dark Souls 2 lacks so heavily.

In Demons Souls, the world is dark. Shit is scary. You see one insane little hollow up ahead? You walk up slowly with a raised shield. Demons Souls is just that scary. The very approach of playing the game is different. My friend has only played Dark Souls 2, and mechanically the game is far easier. The monsters have less health, you start with better equipment, the enemies fewer.

But the game just feels scarier. You don't want to walk around a corner too fast because something will jump out at you. THAT is the feeling the Anime needs to capture. Something that has been captured in other series! Even Katanagatari has this feel to it.

But that's what must be done. The sense of excitement at what's happening on screen, the grand scale of the world. These can be accomplished without too much technical mumbo jumbo, just a decent director able to desplay some grand shots.

Or, they could do any origin story -- like how the world was created, that sort of thing. Focusing on a prequel character or something, maybe involved with the Gods (or whatever they're called. Elemental entities? I can't remember at the moment). I think that'd be cool. I would what the art style would be close to...
