Plus free DRM download, but I'd assume that the paid download has the most flexibility for playing on various devices.

Oh, undoubtedly. I have checked out a couple of episodes (in one case, the KLK download-to-own finally went live on the week my preferred fansubber was running late, and I had always wanted to check the premium download, so...) and the quality is pretty good and it played well with pretty much all of my gear. :-D

The only issue I have is the fact that they neither have a seriously discounted "Season Pass" nor do they currently have any older back catalogue shows.
Paying a reasonable chunk of cash for a show I'm likely to want to buy the complete season on Blu-ray for just sticks in my throat a bit. Especially when I am already paying another service a flat-fee subscription to act as my "legal preview service".

Now, once they get some not-on-BD (or even not-on-DVD) shows in their library then I will really be interested.

I would mostly be interested in the free download (which I gather is watch an ad to download, plays for a few days, available during the same window as free streaming) if it worked on my Android tablet, since playing my netbook on my TV is very much a cobbled together connection.

Out of curiosity, while I am glad that Future Card Buddyfight will be available on Crunchyroll, I was wondering if there would be any possibility to trying to get a simulcast with the Japanese audio with subtitles, like how Cardfight Vanguard has both a dub and sub version available (Though dub is restricted to youtube, for now). I'm really happy that they're dubbing the show at the same time as Japan airs it, as it's something I'd like to see more companies try to do more often. Still, I couldn't help but wonder if it'd be possible to get the Japanese version up as well.

Yeah, I loved the having a show being dubbed as it does increase # of audiences in USA/CA but personally, I am more used to watch them subbed with Japanese Audio and had prefer it that way if given the option. With the exception of close to under 7-15% of the total dubbed series where I think English Dub is equal if not superior to the original Japanese audio cast.

You got a lot of shows this season which is nice and all but the show I was looking forward to the most is not here so I'm disappointed.

CR got most (90-95%) of all the new shows that was released this season. What show could you possibility be looking forward to the most that weren't listed and outweigh the rest to have any disappointment?? OVA, specials are an exception that not even funimation sometime try to licence.

Its animated. In Japan. That's pretty much what "anime" means, no?

Well to be technical anime is just short for animation HOWEVER most people generally consider anime a lot better than mere cartoons in many different areas and anime tends to have it's own style that is very much different than cartoons and other animated shows and movies. It just happens that the vast majority of anime comes from Japan so people generally think of anime as coming from there.

To be technical "anime" is the Japanese term for animation, as it is short for animation in Japan.

Indeed, in Japan, any cartoon would be called "anime". But its more normal outside of Japan to use the Japanese term "anime" to refer to animation created in Japan.

Yes, it tends to have a distinctive style, since its animation from Japan, which has a well established animation industry that tends to draw heavily on the trends in the much larger manga publishing industry for its art style.

But still, "anime" normally means "animation from Japan".

Yes, indeed under the normal understanding of the term outside Japan, a majority so vast that it is 100%.

I love Future Card Buddyfight, and as far as dubs go, it's better than most. But the addition of FCB makes it the only dubbed simulcast this season-- the only dubbed title added since I joined nearly 4 years ago the best I recall. YT has dubbed CFV and FCB, and CR has subbed CFV and dubbed FCB. No option is available anywhere for those of us who prefer subs, but you're duplicating YouTube's offering instead. Is there a reason for diluting the subs-dominant offering at CR just to add another simulcast to the lineup?
