Gotta say, while I don't read Index, this is getting my hopes up on the future of the Western LN market. Not to mention, the Index novel series is HUGE. Don't believe me? Go on amazon jp and see for yourself how there are more than 30+ books published in Japan including side stories and sequel series. Hopefully the majority of those who read the fan translations of these licenses will buy the books. Though it's technically better for those who haven't been up to date with the novels since you can buy and read them as they come out. I was hyped when I heard SAO was gonna get published, but man! What if my dreams come true and Kagerou Daze really does make it overseas after all? Boy I hope this succeeds.

Maybe we'll eventually get Log Horizon, No Game No Life, or even Baccano! I completely support this.

I thought anyone licensing Index would be impossibility. Way to show me otherwise Yen. I'm sure if sales are good and demand is high they can release more books a year. Makes me feel somewhat glad I stopped reading fan translations since Utsuro no Hako ( which seriously needs to get picked up along with Gekkou), but I do feel a lot of gratitude to B-T for making me aware of this aware of this medium at least.

I am loving Yen On right now, considering they are releasing Log Horizon, No Game No Life, The Devil is A Part Timer, A Certain Magical Index and Kagerou Daze.

I am super excited to start reading light novels.

since I tried the fan translations and it just didn't work for me, I don't like reading novels on the computer.

I just realized that "Yen Press" became "Yen On" on the spine of the book. Besides that, I wish that they would release their books on the ePub format. It would be greatly be appreciated to those who don't mind reading on a tablet :/ But I guess it would cost more to license them for digital.

Just a heads up but one of the sites you referenced in your post hosts and or links to scanlations/fansubs... something Crunchyroll clearly does not support. All reference to the site in question was removed from your post. Please do not edit your post and put the references back in or we will have to do something more stringent. CR takes anime and manga piracy very seriously.

I don't endorse piracy either, but Anime News Network is a legit news source that does not endorse piracy, and Yen Press is not a scanlation site since they are the ones localizing the LNs in the West. Can you please elaborate?

EDIT: then again I notice you edited my post about an hour ago, and since it was an old one I barely remember what it originally said (I don't quite remember adding any other articles besides ANN and Yen Press). If I happened to post an illegal site by mistake, as unlikely as I imagine I did, I apologize and thank you for making the needed changes.

Looks like Log Horizon has a release date! (April 21, 2015)

Source: It's listing on Amazon.com

Sidenote: I really wish Amazon would do a better job of distinguishing between Light Novels and Manga.

Honestly what I could say to that is that people should try research much as possible before they buy the item in question. Like different of covers. That would save them the disappointment of expecting LN but instead got the manga adaptation.

On a different note: I'm glad to see ebooks on amazon, tTunes other places.

Is it true that they'll be publishing DRRR?
I've been waiting for this for about four years now!

When it comes to the Yen Press stuff, since they made the Yen On label all of their new light novels are published under that label, so if you check under publisher on Amazon and it says Yen On you know its the LN rather than the manga.

I feel really lucky as an American fan. Now I can buy the real physical copies and read them over and over. I am very happy that we are getting so many titles that I am interested in. I think Yen Press does good work. But Amazon doesn't seem to distinguish between light novels and graphic novels so be careful with what you order. Just an issue I had in the past. :/

I hope they will translate the 8 additional Book Girl books as I enjoyed the main series a lot. Also I'm waiting for the last volumes of Spice and Wolf to buy them all at once, but that will take a few more months. I also would have been interesset in Is This A Zombie? but unfortunally Yen Press picked up the manga and not the novels
