I didn't like my high school and I am glad that I didn't go. I just stayed home enjoying myself.

I didn't go, and I could not care less. The music was bad, the people were worse, and I had a nice evening at home with my dog.

You can't beat spending time with your dog, especially when they're not around anymore.

I never went. I went bowling with a bunch of my friends that night, and it looked like we were the only ones who didnt feel like we wasted a wad of money the monday after.

My school's prom tickets (we don't have prom for middle school) cost $250 alone, considering the school likes to cater to the rich town my school serves, which is also the majority of the student population. Taking into account all the rules they have to enforce, including not letting any other kids from other schools in, makes it such a pain in general. Most people end up spending over $1000 on prom at my school. And they expect me to come up with all this money I don't have to hang out with the zero friends I have for one night? Hell, I actually forgot about senior prom until now, that's how much I care about prom.

Basically, why would you want to spend that much and jump through hoops because it has the prom label? Making your own unique memories is much cheaper, hassle-free, and more enjoyable than an arbitrary set-up. It doesn't need to be a set event for it to be special. Do what makes you happy, not have someone tell you what does.

My junior prom...haha, I asked out a random girl in the hallway because I decided to go to my junior prom at the last minute. So I needed a date in a matter of a couple or few days, in order to meet a deadline for prom arrangements, or else I'd go there single. So while walking down the hallway one day, I saw a very good looking girl - turns out she was a freshman and I was a junior - and I ask her "Hi...would you like to go to the junior prom with me?". She blushed and said yes and I got her number and then we stayed in touch a few times leading up to the prom. She was a really sweet girl. She has a wild side, though. When there was dance music on the dance floor, she was grinding me like crazy. I remember friends, buddies, and classmates seeing it and I would have huge smiles on my face. I was basically like "I know, right?". As my 16 year old self, I certainly didn't mind this. Other than that happening, I was a gentleman. I didn't do anything lecherous the whole night I was with her.

After prom, well...I wish I was a better acquaintance to her. Certainly I would have liked to spend more time with her. A sweet, attractive girl. Unbeknownst to me, she was moving away after the prom in a matter of a few or so weeks. I found out very shortly before she left. She moved across the country. It is too bad. If she stayed in our town, maybe we could have been friends, or maybe we could have even started dating. Although, back then, I was so shy about girls. I never dated in high school because I was so nervous with girls I liked and girls I wanted to date, and I was self conscious; so worried what people would think if I hooked up with 'girl A' or 'girl B' and so forth.

My prom was pretty boring too, the "high class" food tasted like water and I spent most of my time hanging out outside. Overall, I don't regret paying 200$ for it, it was nice to see everyone you went to high school with for the last time, the after party was pretty fun and having the sense of pride for graduating at 16 was great.

If you have the money to pay for it and a decent plan for the after party, you should definitely go, it is the only prom you get to go right? Also, don't worry about not having a date, most people in your prom will probably be single too.

I went to my h.s prom on a party bus so it was pretty cool, but not being able to go with the person you first invited makes prom suck. Overall it was my first and last horrible prom.

I went to one prom my junior year, two my senior year and four "formals" in High School. Enjoyed every minute of each one.

If you can go, I'd say go. In most cases, your time in high school will be some of the best times in your life. Try to enjoy it.

Despite never liking dances, I went to my senior prom and my eighth grade prom. Both were awkward. Semi-fun, but mostly just awkward.

Senior prom was an adventure in and of itself. It was held in M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (where the Ravens play). I carpooled with some friends. It took us 2x longer than it should have to find out where to park, then we decided we were hungry and didn't want to wait for the stadium to open, so we walked through the city in our frilly prom dresses to a sub shop five blocks away next to Camden Yards, right after the baseball game had let out. There were various harassing gestures, honks, and wolf whistles. Not to mention the stares.

To top it off, I had never previously worn heels before, and the damn shoes wore a giant bloody blister over a good half of my foot. The dance itself was extremely meh.

I was so stressed out by the end of it that I went home and had a good, long cry.

All in al, definitely not the best night of my life, but I don't really regret it. It was one hell of an experience, at least.

Somewhat enjoyed Senior High school prom. Me and my date ate at a super fancy restaurant in downtown SD, which was one of the highlights of the night because the food was delicious even though it exceeded $100 for two people! xD Just make sure you choose the RIGHT date, mine on the other hand was somewhat boring when we actually got to the prom, but it didn't stop me from having fun with my friends and dancing with other girls. Overall it's just something to look back at which is great, but i seriously wished I could've taken someone else.

At the time I would have said it was pretty shitty, girlfriend problems, completely broke and out of cigarettes. However looking back on it as a battle hardened 24 year old medical student, its one of those last times you get to pretty much have no responsibilities and try to have a good time... I mean hell I ended up ditching my date getting in the limo with my bros and playing pokemon cards anyway.

I live in the UK so there's only one prom, the year 11 prom after you've taken all your exams. It was free and at a hotel in town which was pretty nice, I went alone with no-one and came away with no-one but I had fun dancing with my friends and seeing some people try (and fail) to get the teachers to buy them alcohol.

well, I was from an all girl school... and my prom was called a 'Lesbian Prom' by some of the parents... ikr!
they held it at a hotel's ballroom... the decoration sucks, the food sucks, no dancing, and its all girls... =.=
like after 30 minutes... my friends and I went to the bar downstairs and we just sat there and listen to the live band performs...
it was the happiest moment of the night... So literally, my prom night was a disaster... yay (¬_¬)

My school didn't have one and I wouldn't have gone if it did.
