So here is the way this thread is going to work, this is a little bit of a game.

Say one nice thing about SAO. You may elaborate on it, you may compare and contrast it to other animes. The caveat is that you may not use any negative words or insults toward SAO or any other anime.

Example : SAO does this very well, LH is lighter on that. <--- PERFECT
LH sucks because it doesn't do that, and that is why SAO is so much better than LH. <--- AWFUL

Why this format? Because I want to know if SAO fans can truly give a good reason for liking SAO. People who have superficial reasons will be apparent. Also it takes some brains to insult an anime using kindness, if people follow the rules, this should also weed out the less clever trolls. Also not being able to say anything directly negative prevents distasteful arguments. Basically I want to see how far people can show their 'love' for SAO without having to put another anime down. I also want to see how well people can show their dislike of SAO, without saying anything bad about it.

This is sort of an experiment too. If you could, please ignore anyone that gets really aggressive and directly negative. If you reply to someone reply to them positively. For example :

A: "I enjoy the romance in SAO"
B: "I believe the romance could have had a little more impact had there been a few more episodes of development between Asuna and Kirito, and had Asuna been developed further as her own character."

Nothing mean was said, it was constructive criticism without insults.

I think we can come together closer as a community, both those who like and dislike SAO by just saying 'nice' things about it.

I will start off with two my own examples :

Sincere Positivity:

---The first episode of SAO was extremely exhilarating. The conversations between Klein and Kirito made their relationship and the world feel genuine. Kayaba's speech at the plaza was a wonderful way to foreshadow some upcoming epic adventures. Likewise, the portrayal of the vast numbers of players along with their expressions in the plaza felt genuine and quite adeptly portrayed an air of suspense. I must say Sword Art Online's first episode was much more intriguing than that of other similar recent animes.

Insincere Positivity:

---Kirito's natural talent for gaming and skill that dwarfs that of even logically unbeatable enemies was a very unique and realistic take on gaming as a whole. It was no wonder why any and every desirable lady fell for this virtual Adonis almost at first sight. Kirito is definitely a wonderful representation of all my myso... I mean chivalrous hopes and dreams. Bravo SAO.

There I have shown you how to sincerely praise SAO, and I have shown you how to be an asshole, without saying anything mean. Let's see if we can have a fun and civilized thread that doesn't have to completely avoid confrontation in fear of insults and screams.

I feel like SAO has some really fluid animation for fight scenes, though I do wish more time was spent on character development.

As long as he doesn't go around pouncing on any 10-year-old ghosts, I'm sure he'll be fine.

The setting was so gorgeous that I barely even remember the characters.

I'm pretty neutral on SAO, I just love the whole 'saying something mean but making it sound like a compliment' schtick. I feel like I should follow it up with a "Ohohoho."

SAO portrays the perfect waifu, that is why it is a good anime.

Asuna is the perfect waifu. She cooks. She cleans. She is 2D.

Definitely love that. .Hack//sign , .hack//roots, and I think Noir also had music done by her. Yuki Kajiura's music is highly atmospheric which is why I absolutely love it. It's probably the most atmospheric sound track music I have heard outside of Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross.
